AILET College List

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by the NLU Delhi for admission to the BA LLB and LLM courses. The AILET 2026 exam was conducted on December 14, 2025. Based on the score achieved in the exam, admission to the said courses will be offered at NLU Delhi. Candidates must note that the AILET 2026 results were announced on December 18, 2025, along with the answer key. Candidates can check their score on the website- nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. 

National Law University Delhi closed the AILET counselling registration on December 27, 2025. The candidates who were shortlisted for the counselling received their invites through the candidate portal. According to the official counselling notice, NLU Delhi will publish four different AILET provisional merit lists showing the names of selected candidates. Those whose names appear in the AILET merit list must pay the admission confirmation fee before the final deadline to secure their seat.

The AILET 2026 1st Merit List was released on the website on January 8, 2026. The last date to pay the admission confirmation fee was January 14. The NLU Delhi will release the AILET Second Merit List on January 21, 2026. The schedule of the AILET UG merit list and seat allotment is the same for the AILET PG exam as well.

The AILET score is mostly accepted by National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi). It is the only National Law University in India that holds and accepts the AILET exam for admission into its BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD programs. Besides NLU Delhi, a few private law colleges in India also take AILET scores for admission to their law courses. These can include some AILET colleges in Delhi and other cities like Kolkata, based on their admission rules for that year.

These institutes might have different AILET colleges fee structures and admission rules. Some AILET colleges in Delhi and AILET colleges in Kolkata may also take AILET scores for certain programs. To get admission in other NLUs across India, students need to appear for the CLAT exam because CLAT scores are accepted by all other National Law Universities.

Q:   How many seats are offered by NLU Delhi through AILET 2026?

The total seats offered in NLU Delhi are-
  • for admission to BA LLB program - 120 seats
  • for LLM ciourse - 81 seats  
The additional seats are also offered for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO candidates.
Q:   Does NLU Delhi accept any other entrance exam for admission?
A:

The entrance exam accepted for admission to the BA LLB and LLM courses at the NLU Delhi is AILET. No other entrance exam is accepted for the admission to the institute. Candidates appearing in any other Law entrance exam such as CLAT, MHCET Law, SLAT, will have to appear for the AILET to increase their scope of admission to NLU Delhi.

AILET or All India Law Entrance Test is an entrance exam conducted at the national level. The conducting body is NLU Delhi. Students aim for this course for getting admissions to LLM courses in NLU Delhi. This exam is seperate than CLAT.

NLU Delhi BA LLB (Hons) cutoff 2026 is out for round 1 across different categories. For the students belongong to the General AI quota, the AILET cutoff score is 60. For the OBC category, the cutoff score is 330. Candidates can refer to the table below to view the category-wise cutoff details:

No, the presidency university do not accept AILET Score. Candidates have to appear either for PULAT or CLAT to get admission in the law courses offered by the varsity. Without it you can not get admission.
