All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by the NLU Delhi for admission to the BA LLB and LLM courses. AILET 2026 exam is scheduled to be conducted on 14-Dec-2025. Based on the score achieved in the exam, admission to the said courses will be offered at NLU Delhi. Students aspiring to participate in the exam must prepare a well-structured plan to crack it. For that, they must know that the AILET question paper will have 120 questions (BA LLB paper) from subjects like English, GK and Current Affairs, and Logical Reasoning.

The college accepting AILET 2026 scores will then commence the admission process after the AILET 2026 results are declared. Colleges Accepting AILET 2026 Scores

Q:   How can I apply for AILET 2026?
A:

To apply for AILET 2026, candidates can follow the steps given below:

  • Visit the NLU Delhi official website
  • Navigate through the page to register for AILET
  • Enter the valid email ID and password
  • Login using the credentials craeted and enter the details asked
  • Upload the necessary documents including signature and photograph
  • Ensure the correctness of the details and submit the form
  • Keep the softcopies of application form saved for future references 
Q:   Can I appear for AILET if I forget to carry my photo ID?
A:

No, candidates were not allowed to appear for the examination without a valid photo ID. Candidates were advised to keep the following three things ready with them, a day before the examination; a valid photo ID proof, AILET admit card 2026, and a recent passport-sized photograph. These were the mandatory documents to be produced during entry to the AILET exam centre. The valid photo identity card which would be allowed at the AILET 2026 exam centre include Aadhaar card/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Voter Id. The admit card should also have the passport and postcard-sized photographs pasted on it.

Q:   How many city preferences can a candidate submit while selecting AILET center?
A:

Candidates can submit maximum 3 preferences for AILET centre. Choosing preference for exam centre is mandatory to submit AILET application. Candidates will get to know about allotment of exact centre once the admit card is released. The NLU Delhi releases admit card online comprising crucial details about exam including name and address of AILET centre. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website after its release. To download AILET admit card, candidates need application ID, password, and Exam Unique Code (EUC).

Q:   Can I apply for AILET in offline mode?
A:

No. National Law University (NLU) Delhi only accept online application form for AILET 2026 exam. The application form for AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) is submitted online through the official website. The application process starts with online registration. Candidates have to register on the website, fill in the application form, upload the necessary documents, and pay the application fee online. Before applying online, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria set by NLU Delhi. 

Q:   When is AILET merit list released?
A:

The AILET merit list is released once the counselling begins. NLU Delhi releases the merit list as per the seats and vacancies. The first merit list is released in the last week of December or first week of January. The merit list notification can be checked at the NLU Delhi official website. 

Q:   Does NLU accepts AILET?
A:

NLU Delhi provides admission to its BA LLB and LLM programme based on the AILET 2026 scores. However, all other NLUs in the country accept CLAT scores for providing admission to their courses. Candidates can sit for both the entrance exams to expand their scope of admission.

Things to keep in mind while selecting a college accepting AILET 2026 scores

The most important decision while taking admission to the colleges is to select the right institute for studying the subjects based on which your career will succeed. Since, the AILET 2026 scores are accepted by just one NLU in India, that is, National Law University of Delhi, candidates have no other choice to choose a different NLU. Howevr, the candidates can expand their scope of admission to the NLUs in India by also sitting in another Law entrance exam, that is, CLAT 2026. CLAT scores are accepted by all the other NLUs in India. 

The AILET scores are accepted by some other private Law colleges as listed above. Candidates should keep in mind the career goals, ranking and reputation, courses offered, infrastructure, facilities, location, placement and other factors while targetting the college for admission.
