AILET 2027 exam will be held on Sunday, 13 December 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in offline mode. Official application window is going on and last date for AILET registration is November 10, 2026.
AILET is national level law entrance exam conducted by National Law University, Delhi. It is a bit different from CLAT Exam as AILET score is used only for admission into NLU Delhi. Candidates who wants to pursue BA LLB, LLM and PhD programs from National Law University, Delhi register for AILET exam.

What is AILET?

AILET is national level entrance exam conducted by NLU Delhi every year. It is held for students who want to get admission into law programs at NLU Delhi. It serves as a sole way for admission into 5 Year undergraduate program, 1 Year postgraduate program (LLM) and PhD program.

AILET BA LLB Subjects

Candidates who have passed or are appearing for Class 12 can take AILET exam. Make sure to check AILET eligibility criteria before enrolling.

Since there is no sectional cutoff, candidate must attempt questions from all three subjects. But to get good rank and admission into NLU Delhi, candidate should aim to score well across every subject, especially Logical Reasoning, as it carries highest weightage.

AILET English Language Subject

There will be around 50 questions from English Language subject, making it second highest weightage subject in AILET paper. This subject tests candidate's reading skills, vocabulary and grammar usage.
As per topics covered in this subject, candidate will be required to demonstrate skills including:

• Reading and understanding passage based questions
• Vocabulary and word usage
• Basic grammar rules
• Drawing inferences from given passage
• Reasoning based questions 

Candidates are advised to read newspaper and English novels daily to improve reading speed, since most questions in this subject are passage based.

AILET Current Affairs & General Knowledge Subject

Candidates are advised to prepare current events of national and international importance from last several months. This subject checks how updated candidate is about events happening around them. Candidates can check topics covered under Current Affairs & General Knowledge subject below:

• Arts and culture

Candidates are advised to prepare current affairs from monthly magazine and revise general knowledge topics regularly to score well in this subject.

AILET Logical Reasoning Subject

Logical Reasoning subject is most important in AILET question paper. It carries highest weightage with 70 questions, making up nearly 50 percent of total marks. Candidate's familiarity with legal reasoning is tested in Logical Reasoning subject itself. AILET Logical Reasoning topics includes:

AILET PG paper consists of 100 questions. In recent years, NLU Delhi has removed descriptive section from AILET LLM pattern, making entire paper MCQ based, similar to UG paper.
