The syllabus of the TS LAWCET exam will be released on TGCHE website. The candidates will be able to access the syllabus when the official notification is released. The PDF of the syllabus will be attached below. The syllabus of TS LAWCET 2026 will have the section-wise topics, which can be referred to during the preparation. 

The questions will be asked majorly from three sections namely, GK and Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Aptitude for the Study of Law. Both the 5-year LLB and 3-year LLB entrance exam question paper will have same subjects and similar weightage to each section. The difference will be in difficulty level of the exam. The 5-year LLB entrance exam will be of Intermediate level/10+2, while the 3-year LLB exam will be of Degree Level. Candidates are adised to also refer to the TS LAWCET 2026 question paper during their preparaion to score better.

TS LAWCET Syllabus 2026

There are three sections in the syllabus of TS LAWCET. The section-wise syllabus for TS LAWCET 2026 with detailed topics is as under:

Q:   When will TG LAWCET 2026 registration start?
A: 

The TG LAWCET 2026 registration is likely to begin in March 2026, on the official TG LAWCET portal, lawcet.tsche.ac.in. The registration for 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB through TG PGLCET 2026 will begin on the same date. The registration cum application form for TG LAWCET 2026 is only be made available online. Candidates need to note that the TS LAWCET 2026 exam date for 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB courses will also be the same. The exam will be conducted online at test centres allotted to candidates.

TS LAWCET Syllabus 2026: Important Topics for GK and Mental Ability

The questions asked in the TS LAWCET exam based on GK and Mental Ability are from the current national and international events. This sections aims to analyse the candidate's ability to critically examine the questions.
The following are the important topics for the GK section:
  1. National and International GK
  2. History: Major events, personalities, and movements in Indian and world history.
  3. Geography: Physical features, countries, and continents of the world, important geographical landmarks in India.
  4. Polity: Indian Constitution, political system, government structure, and current affairs.
  5. Economy: Basic economic concepts, economic policies, and current economic trends in India and the world.
  6. Science and Technology: Important scientific discoveries, inventions, and current developments in science and technology.
  7. Recognition and Honors: Important awards and honors given in India and internationally.

The question related to the Mental Ability subject are based on two important topics namely, Reasoning Ability and Logical Ability. Candidates are asked questions related to information analysis, identifying relationships, and drawing conclusions. It also evaluates arguments, identifying biases, and forming sound judgments. However, the questions asked in the analytical ability are related to data interpretation, charts, graphs and tables.

TS LAWCET Syllabus 2026: Important Topics for Current Affairs

The TS LAWCET syllabus for Current Affairs never provides for a comprehensive list of specific topics. However, candidates must know about the significant national and international events. The questions in the Current Affairs sections are asked based on the following sections:

  1. Politics
  2. Economics
  3. Social Issues
  4. Legal Affairs
  5. Science & Technology
  6. International Relations

Students must read about the major national and international political events, policies, and figures. The question paper will also ask about important economic trends, policies, and events. Candidates must also read about the social issues like poverty, education, healthcare, and environmental concerns for this section. The other question will also be asked based on landmark legal judgments, proposed or enacted legislation, and legal controversies.

TS LAWCET Syllabus 2026: Important Topics for Aptitude for the Study of Law

The questions asked in the Study of Law section are based on topics such as Legal Awareness, Legal Principles, and Legal Reasoning. Candidates will have to study for the following topics to ace this section: 

  1. Indian Constitution

  2. Contract Law

  3. Torts

  4. Criminal Law

Fundamental rights, directive principles, organs of government, and amendments should be studied along with the formation of contract and remedies. Candidates must also study about Indian Penal Code (IPC) - general principles, specific offenses, and general exceptions.

In the the Legal Principles, the important topics include, interpretation of statutes and legal documents., legal maxims (short, well-established principles of law), etc. However, for the Legal Reasoning, candidates must know the case analysis and adept with legal research.

There are a total of 120 questions in the TS LAWCET question paper. Following is the segregation of marks for each section:

The Aptitude for the Study of Law is the most important section of the TS LAWCET exam because majority of the questions are asked in this section and it carries a weightage of equal to 60 marks out 120 marks.

The TG PGLCET 2026 exam is conducted for admission to the 2-year LLM course offered by participating colleges. The TS PGLCET 2026 exam will be of 90 minutes duration and include 120 objective-type questions of 1 mark each. The TS PGLCET 2026 syllabus would include the following topics:
