You can divide the entire 5-6 days covering up the areas of current affairs to be asked in the exam.

  • This section emphasizes on significant contemporary national and international events.
  • This means you should be knowledgeable about ongoing developments impacting various domains like Politics, Economics, Social Issues, Legal Affairs, Science & Technology, and International Relations.

Week 3 – Study core areas of Legal Aptitude

Further, to prepare for the Aptitude for the Study of Law, you need to focus on three main subjects - Legal Awareness, Legal Principles, and Legal Reasoning. 

  • Under the Legal Awareness subject, questions from Indian Constitution, Contract Law, Torts, Criminal Law will be asked.
  • Under the Legal Principles, questions from Interpretation of statutes and legal documents, Stare decisis (the principle of following legal precedent), Ratio decidendi (the legal reasoning behind a court decision), and Legal maxims (short, well-established principles of law) will be asked.

Legal reasoning section includes the three main topics listed below:

  1. Case analysis: Identifying the issue, relevant facts, legal principles, and reasoning applied in a court case.
  2. Problem-solving: Applying legal knowledge and reasoning to solve hypothetical legal problems.
  3. Legal research: Identifying and utilizing legal resources like statutes, case law, and legal dictionaries.

Along with thorough understanding of legal aptitude section, do revise the previous week’s topics.

Week 4 – In-depth Study of GK and Mental Ability

After dedicating a complete week to each section, candidates can now allot coming three weeks for in-depth study of the topics along with solving the questions from previous years in order to get the idea regarding the types of questions asked. You can start by solving 30-40 question per day.

Week 5 – In-depth Study of Current Affairs

Focus on latest news, latest judgements, static GK and other related topics along with solving previous years’ questions.

Week 6 – In-depth Study of Legal Aptitude
