Q:   Can I carry a watch to the exam centre? Which documents should I carry to the ATMA exam centre?
A: 
No, candidates must not carry any electronic gadgets including watches, mobile phones, calculators, etc. Candidates should only carry recent passport size photograph, photo ID (original and photocopy), self declaration form and ATMA admit card along with them to the exam centre. The candidates can carry an Aadhar card, Voter ID, or passport, driving license, ration card, college ID. They must not carry any stationary item other than a blue/black ballpoint pen. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, ATMA candidates are required to carry drinking water, hand sanitizer and face mask along with them. Candidates have to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle only. No other item will be allowed inside the ATMA exam venue. Candidates must not carry bags or valuables as there will be no arrangement for depositing while candidates appear for the exam. Candidates must also not carry notebooks or rough paper to the ATMA exam centre. Any candidate found with an unauthorised item will be disqualified.
Q:   How can I choose my preferred ATMA exam city?
A: 
There are over a 100 ATMA test centres across the country. These cities consist of metropolitan cities, capital cities, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Candidate can select up to three cities for allotment of test centre. The process of test city selection is a part of ATMA application process. In the ATMA application form, there is a field in which candidates have to select the cities. They need to select the city of preference in order of 1 to 3. The examination authorities will try to allot the test centre in the city of first preference. Thus, candidates must fill all the three cities carefully. They must choose their home city or city of current residence as the first preference. Once the application form has been submitted, the request for change of the city will not be accepted by the exam authorities.
Q:   Will the ATMA exam be conducted in double shifts?
A: 

No, the ATMA exam is usually conducted in a single shift. ATMA exam pattern has not changed much over the years. ATMA 2026 exam will also be conducted in single shift for three hours, I. e. from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The shift timings for both the courses, MBA and MCA will be the same.

Q:   What can I carry to the ATMA exam centre?
A: 

Students appearing for the ATMA exam must carry a coloured copy of the ATMA admit card. They must paste a recent coloured passport size photograph on the admit card. They must also carry a blue or black ball point pen to the exam centre. They must not carry any other stationery item to the ATMA test centre.

No other item such as bags, watches, food, etc. will be allowed inside the ATMA exam centre. They must also not carry notes or rough paper to the ATMA exam centre. If anyone is found with a prohibited item, he or she will be disqualified.

Daily Study Time Table for ATMA May 2026 Exam

The number of study hours for the ATMA exam should depend on the current preparation level of the students. Check the table below:

Morning Session

Students can begin their day for ATMA exam preparation by learning concepts and basics. For instance, students begin with the Quantitative Skills section. This section requires high concentration, hence, starting with QA can be ideal. Students can learn concepts of Arithmetic and Algebra and practice questions from the selected topic. 

Mid Day Session

Students can now take up the Verbal Skills section. They can practice vocabulary and grammar exercises. Regularly reading and practicing grammar will help students fetch a good ATMA score. 

Evening Session 

After the VA section, students can begin with the third section of the ATMA May 2026 exam, i.e. Analytical and Logical Reasoning. Students can practice puzzles, series questions, etc., during the evening. They can analyze the logical reasoning sets and understand the pattern.

Night Session

The nighttime should be reserved for practice and revision. Students should try to take at least one sectional ATMA mock test. The ATMA exam is conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). AIMS is a networking body of B-schools in India for the professional development of management education. This networking body is the official representative of Indian Management Schools in India as well as in some important international forums. Many top institutes such as IIMs, ISB, ASCI, Xavier Institutions, Welingkar Institute of Management (WeSchool), NMIMS, ICFAI, MDI, SP Jain, and many other management departments of various Universities are the members of AIMS. AIMS also have tie ups with international bodies such as Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Usually, the ATMA exam is conducted in computer-based test mode in more than 100 test cities. The exam is accepted by over 600 B-Schools across India, and the scores obtained in the ATMA exam are considered for admission to MBA and MCA courses offered by these institutes.

Q:   What is ATMA exam by AIMS?
A: 

ATMA exam is a nation level MBA entrance exam conducted by Association of Indian Management Schools. Courses such as MS and PGDM are also offered through ATMA exam. The exam is conducted in the CBT test format multiple times a year. The exam checks numerical, verbal and logical abilities of students taking the exam. Duration of the exam is three hours and has MCQ type questions. The exam is accepted by over 700 B-Schools across India, and the scores obtained in the ATMA exam are considered for admission to various management courses offered by these institutes. 

Q:   What is the ATMA PID number?
A: 

PID number or the Personal Identification Number is given to students when filling ATMA application form. It can be used to download the ATMA admit card and result. PID can also be used for future communications for admissions via the ATMA exam. Aspirants can login into the ATMA login portal with PID number. 

Q:   What is the ATMA exam duration? Can I change my exam slot?
A: 
The ATMA exam is held for three hours or 180 minutes. There is only one slot for the ATMA exam. ATMA exam has a sectional time limit of 30 minutes. This means, that the candidates will have approximately one minute to solve each question. Candidates must take care of saving their answers at every step as the moment 30 minutes will get over, the screen will automatically move to the next section. There is no provision of changing the exam slot. And there is no provision to apply for the same. Candidates will have to appear for the exam from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Candidates must make sure that they reach the ATMA exam centre by 1:00 PM in order to complete the frisking formalities at the entry gate. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre beyond 1:30 PM.

ATMA Weekly Study Routine 2026

Students should have a daily, weekly and monthly study routine in place to prepare well for the ATMA exam 2026. Check below to know how students can bifurcate their week:

Weeks 1 to 2 can be used to learning concepts and practicing. Students should aim to attempt at least 2 to 3 ATMA mock tests in the entire two weeks. They should keep one day per week to revise what they have studied and focus on where are they lacking. This will help students analyse their mistakes and avoid making repeated mistakes. 

Week 3 can be dedicated to only attempting sectional mock tests. Students should understand that practicing ample number of ATMA mock tests and practice questions will not only help students improve on their mistakes but also help them better their time management skills and understand the basics. Secional mock exams will help students know different type of questions and tricks and short cuts. 

Week 4 should be kept for taking full length ATMA mock tests. Mock tests are designed to replicate the actual ATMA exam 2026. So, students should make sure they take full length mock tests in timed setting to prepare full fledgedly for the ATMA exam 2026.

Yes, candidates can appear more than once for ATMA exam. ATMA is held three to five times a year and scores of best attempt would be considered for admissions to colleges accepting ATMA scores.

Yes, PUMBA accepts ATMA scores for MBA admissions. The ATMA cut off for PUMBA is usually high and ranges between 85 to 90 percentile.
