How to Prepare for ATMA Quantitative Skills 2026?

Practice is the key to getting a good score in the quantitative skills section of AIMS Test for Management Admissions. Even if you know all the concepts and formulas, if you do not practice enough for exam, the chances of not completing the exam on time are higher. So, if you are preparing for quantitative skills topics, check this space for ATMA preparation tips.

  • The first thing to do while preparing for any entrance exam is to understand ATMA exam syllabus and clear basic concepts. With clarity on concepts, chances of solving a question quickly and accurately are high.
  • Mathematics is the most important part of this section. Understand basics of mathematics, important formulas, and methods to solve a question. As ATMA question paper includes multiple choice questions, learn shortcuts and tricks to save time.
  • Make sure to learn formulas by heart. There are many cases when students know how to solve a question, but forget the formula to use. Make short notes or cards for formulas and revise them daily.
  • Practice how to read and interpret tables, charts and graphs for Data Interpretation questions. Try to solve as many questions as you can while preparing, to have a good hold on these questions.
  • Increase your calculation speed to answer questions quickly. Try to calculate without using a calculator. It will help you save time during exam.
  • Practice sample papers, ATMA mock tests and past question papers to get an idea of the types of problems asked in exam. Try to complete them in 180 minutes to know your speed level. Analyze your mock papers and check which topic or chapter requires more practice. Identify your week and strong areas and prepare a strategy for them accordingly.
  • Practicing previous years' papers in the same exam environment can help you work on your time management skills. The best way to solve the entrance test is by not giving more than required time to a question. If you are unable to solve a question, skip it and move on to the next. You can always come back to the skipped question if you have time left at the end of exam.

Association of Indian Management Schools does not conduct a centralised counselling process for the ATMA exam. Each participating institute releases its ATMA cutoff and students who match it have to appear for GD/PI/WAT rounds.
