With less than 15 hours to go for CMAT 2016, students would have already prepared well for the exam. Some students would be excited for the exam, while some would be nervous. No matter which category the aspirant falls into, some last minute tips are welcomed by all.
To make things a little easier for the candidates, Shiksha spoke to Mikin Shah who is a serial topper, and Co-founder and Director at foresight school. Here’s what he had to say:
Explore colleges based on CMAT
Read for an hour
This is the right time for candidates to indulge into some light reading. Do not read as if you are preparing for the exam. Pick up a novel or a newspaper and read for about one hour. This will keep you relaxed as well keep your mind open. So, the next day you you will be open to any topic that comes in the exam.
Revise formulae
To excel in the maths section, it is important to know the formulas by heart. It is very obvious that you must have learnt them all by now, but it is equally important to revise them. Take this moment to throughly revise the formulas, so that there is no confusion the next morning.

Do not start anything new
If there is anything that you have not prepared for, leave it. Starting something new at this moment will do no good, instead, will only cause confusion. Whatever has been prepared is good enough – focus on revising the same.
Take one mock test
If you want to be more confident about your preparation, you can attempt one mock test. This will keep the pattern of the exam fresh in your mind, and you will be able to perform better in the exam. Also, this is the right time to see if your speed and accuracy match. If you are doing it well, follow the same strategy in the exam, and if you find yourself lacking somewhere, keep sure you maintain the same in the exam.

Focus on sectional sequence
Candidates are advised to follow a certain sectional sequence. To start off the paper attempt the General Knowledge section, and finish it off quickly. Next, move on to the Verbal Ability section – while attempting this section, make sure you focus on both speed and accuracy. The next section that must be attempted is Logical Reasoning – here too speed and accuracy will play a major role. Keep maths for last. Here you can use as much time as you have. All that needs to be kept in mind is that you finish the easy questions first, and only then move on to the difficult ones.
Know about your test center
This time there is massive confusion between the candidates about the test centers. Most of the test centers are not much heard of, or are located on the outskirts. I would recommend the candidates to get full information about the location of their respective test centers. If possible, try and visit the same.

Keep your documents
Make sure you keep your admit card and identification proof in your bag the night before the exam. Do not leave this for morning, as if you miss out on carrying your admit card, you will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

All the best!

GK is memory based, so all that you need to do is memorise important events and occurrences. So, candidates may not need a lot of time to prepare for CMAT GK. They can devote one or two months for it. On daily basis, they can read Year Books for one hour to memorise events. Apart from that they can

CMAT RC passages are easy. Candidates need not worry about RCs in CMAT because they are short and pretty much straight forward. Questions are fact based and generally require candidates to identify the main argument/theme/idea of the passage. Sometimes, there are a few vocabulary and idiom based que

Yes, it is necessary to attempt GK section in CMAT as unlike other MBA entrance exams, scores of GK are included in percentile calculation in CMAT. Total number of GK questions in 20 and attempting 8-10 questions correctly, can get the candidate desired sectional cut off in CMAT. So, while preparing
