Get Familiar with the HPU MAT Exam Pattern
Before beginning with the preparation for the entrance examination, candidates must be familiar with the HPU MAT exam pattern to chalk an effective preparation strategy. The question paper of HPU MAT will consist of MCQs. For each question candidates will get 4 options. Check the table below to know the exam pattern:

How to prepare for HPU MAT in 6 months?
March-April Preparation
In the initial two months of preparation, know the complete HPU MAT syllabus. Know your weak areas and focus on concepts, memorising the formulas and chalking out the important topics under each section. Make sure to make notes of the important points and formulas. Develop the habit of reading newspapers every day and marking the difficult words. Try to inculcate the new word in a daily life conversation with family and friends.

May-June Preparation
The next phase of preparation must focus on taking mocks and analysing the weak and strong areas. In this stage, candidates must measure their performance and be exam ready as per the exam pattern and marking scheme of HPU MAT.
July-August Preparation
In the last phase of HPU MAT preparation candidates must by now complete their preparation and must be set for revision. In these months candidates must brush up on their learnings and revise the formulas and new words noted during the preparation time. Candidates must not stop giving the mock tests or solving the previous year's question papers.
Lastly, stay calm while preparing for the exam. Avoid comparing the preparation level with other aspirants or friends. Focus on yourself and your abilities. A positive attitude will help to fetch good marks and get admission to HPU Business School.

Focus on Concepts
At this stage, candidates are anxious about creating a balance between HPU MAT preparation and other MBA entrance exam preparation. Though the syllabus remains similar to other MBA entrance examinations, candidates must memorise the concepts at length to ace the examination with flying colours. The more ideas one has of applying concepts the more edge they get in the actual exam and to solve the tricky questions.
Set small goals
While preparing for HPU MAT candidates must not put everything on a plate for preparation. Rather set small goals and set a time to achieve those goals. On fulfilling the smaller goals it will culminate into a bigger goal. Divide the whole syllabus into smaller chunks and set the duration to prepare for those topics. Make sure to keep solving the mocks, in the beginning, to become familiar with the type of questions that might appear. Try to get comfortable with topics in the majority to not to miss out on every question.

HPU admission to BA programme is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Once candidates register for the BA programme, HPU releases the merit list on the official website of the university. The merit list is prepared based on the marks of candidates in the qualifying exam.
Aspirants with their names in the merit list and required to confirm their admission by paying the course fee. Against the release of every merit list, selected candidates need to confirm their admission.
