MBA Entrance Exams 2022: Calendar, Dates, Admissions, Top Colleges Accepting Exam

MBA entrance exams are common aptitude tests that assess students’ logical, analytical and critical reasoning abilities along with the command over English language and knowledge of current affairs. These exams help MBA institutes in judging the most suitable candidates for their MBA/PGDM programmes. There are about 3,700 management institutes in India. Most of these institutes select candidates on the basis of entrance exam scores.
Most of the top MBA entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, SNAP and CMAT take place in December and January. Exams conducted by private MBA institutes including, TISSNET, IRMASAT, IBSAT and KIITEE MBA are held in December and January. The state-level MBA entrance exams such as MAH-CET, TANCET, TSICET, APICET and Karnataka PGCET are conducted from March to August.
Like in 2020, the schedules of many MBA entrance exams changed in 2021 too and dates were revised due to Coronavirus pandemic and consequent partial lock-down. Many state-level MBA exams such as OJEE, MAH CET, Karnataka PGCET, etc. were conducted in September. In 2022 however, the exams are expected to be held as per schedule.

MBA Entrance Exam Calendar 2022-23
Most of the national-level MBA entrance exams are being held between December and January. MBA aspirants can apply for MBA entrance exams for 2022 admission now as the registration process are ongoing. Registration process for MBA entrance exams to be held in second quarter of 2022 have begun for all top exams. Given below is the MBA entrance exam calendar for 2022-23 session:

MBA Entrance Exams: Eligibility Criteria
- The basic eligibility criteria of all MBA entrance exams is completing graduation with minimum 50 per cent aggregate (45 per cent for Reserved category candidates). However, some exams do not have minimum marks requirement in graduation. Only the passing marks in graduation make candidates eligible for such MBA exams.
- Students in the final year of graduation are also eligible to appear in all the MBA entrance exams
Eligibility criteria of the MBA entrance exams may vary. Thus, the candidates must check the eligibility criteria of each exam before applying.

MBA Entrance Exams & Colleges Accepting Score
The top MBA entrance exams scores are accepted by a large number of MBA institutes across India. CAT exam score is valid for admission to the IIMs and other top B-schools, including SPJIMR-Mumbai, MDI-Gurgaon, FMS-Delhi, IMT-Ghaziabad, etc and aboyt 1,200 other colleges. XAT score is accepted by XLRI, Jamshedpur and over 600 other B-schools. On the other hand, state -level MBA entrance exam scores are mostly valid for admission to state-level MBA colleges.
The scores of entrance exams conducted by private management institutes (except XAT) are mostly valid for admission to only that particular institute or group of institutes. Check out the table below for lists of colleges accepting various MBA entrance exam scores:
