NEET or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam is the biggest and sole medical entrance exam. Approximately 20 lakh candidates are expected to appear for NEET 2024. NEET 2024 will be the gateway to admission for MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing and other medical courses. NEET is conducted in a paper-pencil-based test (PBT) of 200 minutes duration. The question paper will consist of 200 questions, out of which 180 have to be attempted. The questions will be objective and multiple choice type (MCQs). The subjects tested in NEET are Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

NEET 2024 Application Form
NEET 2024 application form date is likely to be announced in the first week of March. The NEET 2024 registration date will be valid for a month. Based on student requests or other factors, NTA may extend the NEET 2024 application last date. After the conclusion of the NEET 2024 application process, NTA will provide an application correction facility as well. The NEET application process is completely online. NEET 2024 study plan for preparation will have to be made well in advance. The first step for NEET 2024 preparation is to be updated with the exam pattern and syllabus. According to the toppers and experts, since the NEET 2024 syllabus will be similar to the Board exams, it is not much of a challenge to balance Board exam preparation with that of the NEET study plan 2024. Q: When will NEET 2024 date be scheduled?
A: NTA is likely to announce the NEET 2024 date by December 2023. Based on the previous year trend, it is likely that the NEET 2024 exam will be conducted in the first week of May. While the NEET exam dates were scheduled in September and July a couple of years ago owing to the pandemic situation, it took a toll on the medical admission schedule. To bridge this gap, NTA conducted NEET in May last year. It is expected that the trend will be continued for NEET 2024 as well. Hence, it is estimated that NEET 2024 will be held in the first Sunday of May.
Q: When will the NEET 2024 application form release?
A: The NEET 2024 application form will be released tentatively in the first week of March. NTA will release the application form of NEET 2024 in an online mode. As of now, there is no official announcement by NTA on this. Candidates will be given at least one month window to complete the application process of NEET 2024. Applicants will have to visit the official exam website and register by filling up the form with the mandatory fields. This will generate the registration credentials. After this, applicants will have to fill up the application form, upload documents and pay the application fee. NTA will send the NEET 2024 application confirmation to the registered email id and mobile number.
Q: What is the eligibility criteria for NEET 2024?
A: Although NEET 2024 eligibility criteria has not been announced yet by NTA, it is expected that the eligibility factors will remain the same. Take a look at the NEET eligibility criteria given below:

Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will attain the same by December 31, 2024. Accordingly, the minimum date of birth of candidates should be December 31, 2006.

Candidates should be of either Indian origin, NRI, or Overseas Citizens of India category.

Applicants should have passed or appeared in the Class 12 Board exam in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects.

Candidates should secure a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent and 45 per cent (Reserved category candidates).
Q: Will NEET 2024 be conducted twice a year?
A: Although NTA and the Ministry of Education were mulling the idea to conduct NEET twice a year, it has not been materialised yet. NTA has confirmed that NEET will be conducted once a year through an RTI response. NEET 2024 will also be conducted once a year, as per the latest reports. However, students and stakeholders have not deterred from urging NTA to conduct NEET twice a year, similar to the JEE Main exam. Further clarity will be there once NTA announces NEET 2024 exam date.
Q: What is the NEET 2024 exam pattern?
A: It is expected that the NEET 2023 exam pattern will remain the same as last year. While NTA had changed the exam pattern of NEET in the years 2021 and 2022, but last year the pattern remained unchanged. Hence, it can be estimated that the NEET 2024 exam pattern will remain the same. NEET 2024 will be conducted in a paper-pencil-based test mode for a duration of three hours and 20 minutes. There will be 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each question is of four marks and there is a negative marking scheme of one mark for each wrong answer.
