The MCC started the NEET UG Counselling registration 2026 on August 5, 2026. The NEET Counselling registration is being held online at mcc.nic.in. Candidates need to register online to participate in the admission process.
As per the website of National Medical Commission (NMC), around 1,36,939 MBBS or medical seats are available in India. The NMC publishes the List of College Teaching MBBS containing the names of the states, number of MBBS seats available against each state and category of seats- Government or Private.
The NEET UG Counselling is an online and offline process. The NEET UG exam qualified candidates need to register online at mcc. nic. in to participate in the counselling process. Students also need to declare choice for college and course for seat allotment online. After seat allotment, candidates have to report to allotted institute for document verification. The institute reporting is an offline process wherein candidates need to visit the institute allocated to them for confirmation of their admission.

The NEET counselling process conducted for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats will be conducted primarily for the MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing courses. For the State NEET counselling rounds, the courses for admission are MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS and BHMS courses. Some of the State NEET UG Counselling authorities also conduct admission for the Allied Courses such as BPTH, BoTH, BNYS, BASLP, etc. The courses may vary from state to state, but the MBBS and BDS courses are common all across. For the 15 per cent AIQ seats, the NEET counselling for B.A.MS, BUMS and BHMS courses are conducted separately by the requisite department and authorities, which is the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC).
After filling the NEET UG counselling registration form with mandatory details, the payment gateway page will appear. Candidates can make online payment by choosing any of the modes, such as, Net Banking, Credit Card and Debit card only after
making the payment as per choice. Only after the successful payment candidate proceed for choice filling. Candidates must note that there will be no option for offline payment or through UPI. Hence, they must ensure that the mode of payment chosen by them is foolproof and there would not be any glitch in the payment process.

MCC NEET Counselling 2026: Choice Filling Process
Check below the detailed MCC NEET UG choice filling 2026 process:
- Visit the official website of MCC – mcc.nic.in
- Go to the ‘New Registration’ tab and click on ‘Sign in’
- Enter the NEET Roll Number, Password and Security Pin
- Click on the link ‘Available Choices’.
- Click on the button for the required choice.
- The selected seats will be removed from the left basket and added to the right basket.
- Save and continue to change the order of preference of choices by clicking the Upper Arrow or button to move up and the Down Arrow button to move down and the Delete button to delete the pre-selected choice .
- Swapping of seats can be carried out by selecting appropriate choices.
- Candidate can delete a specific choice or multiple choices in one go.
- Submit and save the form.

MCC NEET Registration 2026: Eligibility Criteria
There will be around four to five rounds of the MCC NEET Counselling 2026 for admissions to the Undergraduate seats in participating Government Medical/ Dental/ Nursing Colleges of India for MBBS/ BDS/ BSc Nursing/ others. To participate in the MCC NEET UG counselling for 15 per cent of All India Quota (AIQ) seats, candidates need to fulfil the given eligibility requirements-
- Passed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam.
- Candidates must be at least 17 years of age.
- All candidates, including candidates from the UT of J&K, can participate in the counselling for AIQ seats and deemed universities.
- After Round 1, candidates will be eligible for registration only if they are not allotted seats, or have resigned or upgraded the allotted seat.

NEET counselling or the NEET UG All India counselling and the NEET state counselling process are conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other courses. The NEET UG All India counselling is conducted by MCC for the 15 per cent AIQ seats. On the other hand, the state NEET counsellings are conducted by the State Authorities, such as the Department of Medical Education (DME) for different states and Union Territories (UTs) for the 85 per cent State Quota (SQ) seats. The timeline and processes may vary for the NEET All India counselling and the state counselling for NEET. In general, there are three to four rounds for both counselling types. In the state counselling for NEET, the authorities release a merit list for registered eligible candidates. But MCC does not release a merit list. The other steps involved in both counselling types are similar, including registration, choice filling, release of seat allotment and institute reporting.

The MCC NEET counselling registration form has to be filled in online mode only. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) does not provide an option to fill and submit the NEET counselling registration or application form in offline mode or send the hardcopy of the form by post. Eligible candidates will have to first register and then fill and submit the MCC NEET counselling 2025 application form, along with the payment of the application fee.
The NEET counselling registration fee varies for different candidate categories. For the AIQ seats and Central Universities, the fee for the General category candidates is INR 1,000 and for the SC, ST, OBC and PwD category candidates, the fee is INR 500. For participating in the NEET counselling process for Deemed Universities, the registration fee for all category candidates is INR 5,000. The registration fee is non-refundable. On the other hand, candidates will have to pay the tuition fee which is refundable. The amount for the General category candidates for the AIQ seats and Central Universities is INR 10,000. For the reserved category candidates, the amount is INR 5,000. For Deemed Universities, the tuition fee to be paid by all category candidates is INR 2,00,000. Those who would not be allotted a seat after the NEET counselling process will be refunded the tuition fee after the conclusion of the counselling rounds.
After online registration for NEET counselling process, candidates will have to fill in choice of Institutions/colleges/courses in order of their preference. Once the choice is filled in, it can be modified before locking it. During the choice locking period, it is necessary to lock the choices to get a printout of the submitted choices. If a candidate does not lock the choice submitted by him/her, it will be automatically locked as per schedule. In case they don't register and fill in choices during registration period, they will not be allotted any seat. NEET counselling registration will be available before the first three rounds of counselling, and not before the Stray Vacancy Round.

The terms Clear Vacancy and Virtual Vacancy are related to the NEET seat matrix, which is released prior to each round of counselling. Clear Vacancy means empty or unclaimed seats at the end of the institute reporting process conducted at the end of each round. After the declaration of the seat allotment result, if a candidate exits the seat, then those seats come under the Clear Vacancy category. On the other hand, Virtual Vacancy refers to the seats which are considered to be available, if candidates allotted those seats opt for upgradation. In case their seat is not upgraded then the virtual vacancy will not be applicable anymore.

The MCC NEET UG counselling registration process is completely online. The step by step process to apply for NEET UG counselling is as follows:
- Visit the official website of MCC – mcc.nic.in
- Click on the ‘New Registration’ tab under the Candidate Activity Board section
- Click on the New Candidate Registration tab
- Read the instructions and click on 'I Agree' check box
- Enter the mandatory details such as NEET UG roll number, NEET UG application number, mother’s name, date of birth and security pin
- Click on 'Submit'
- The credentials will be generated and sent to the registered email address
- Complete the registration form by entering personal, educational, NEET result and other details and uploading of scanned photograph and signature
- Pay the registration fee and take a printout of the registration confirmation page
