The overall difficulty of IBPS PO Prelims exam for the exam held on Oct 19 was moderate to difficult. Read below the complete IBPS PO Prelims exam analysis 2019 by Students. 

IBPS PO 2019 prelims exam has started on October 12. The last day of IBPS PO prelims exam is October 20. The exam is conducted in multiple shifts. After talking to the aspirants and based on their feedback, it can be concluded that the overall difficulty of the exam is moderate to difficult. There is no change in the exam pattern. Like last year, the paper this year too had sectional timings, 20 minutes were allotted to each section. IBPS PO result 2019 for prelims exam will be released in October/November 2019.

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Analysis (Oct 19)

The first and second shift of IBPS PO prelims exam held on Octover 19 is over now. The questions asked in the exam were 'Easy to Moderate'. The level of questions in Englih Language was easy to moderate. The topic of Close Test asked in the second shift was related to Marketing. The topic of reading comprehension asked in the first shift was related to Solar-Pump.  RC consisted of 8 questions, out of which 3 questions were based on vocab & filler. The level of Quantitative Aptitude in first and second shift was Easy to Moderate. Three types of DI questions were asked from Bar Graph, Double Pie-Chart and Caselet DI. The questions asked in DI in second shift was from Tabular DI (3 Shopkeepers selling articles, male & female), Bar Graph and  Miscellaneous DI. The difficulty level of Reasoning Ablity was easy to moderate. In the first shift, there were 4 puzzles and seat arrangement questions while in the second shift 2 puzzles and Seating Arrangement questions. 

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Analysis by Students (Oct 12)

The preliminary exam of IBPS PO is qualifying in nature. According to IBPS PO exam pattern, the exam comprised three sections - Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language. All questions were objective type and each question has five options. The Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability have 35 questions each while English Language section has 30 questions. Total marks of the test is 100. Duration of the exam is 60 minutes.

Shiksha visited one of the exam centres of IBPS PO in Sector 62, Noida, where more than 4000 students appeared for the exam to gather the feedback of candidates regarding the difficulty level of exam. Candidates who had appeared in the fourth shift of first day of exam shared their views on the difficulty level of exam.

Taking about IBPS PO 2019 exam, Arpit Ahuja said,"This is my first attempt. For me the question paper was quiet lengthy. The Quantitative Aptitude section had 35 questions and it was difficult to solve these questions within 20 minutes. Questions in English Language were easy. Reasoning section had questions from Seating Arrangement, Directions and Family Blood Relations."

Ashsis Kumar said, "I am an SSC aspirant. The overall paper was good. The paper was bit length and it took time for me to solve the questions."

Himanshu said, "I have been giving IBPS PO prelims exam for past two years. In English, there were 8 questions on Reading Comprehension. Questions in English were also asked from Error Spotting and Fill in the blanks. Comprehension questions were lengthy. In Maths, there were 10 questions on statement based, 2 questions were from DI, 5 questions were from wrong number series. In Reasoning, there were three to four Puzzles, 5 questions were on Syllogism. My overall attempt is around 80."

Bhupendra said, "The Reasoning section was easy while Mathematics paper was bit lengthy. My overall attempt is 60 to 66."

Govind said, "The overall paper was easy compared to last year. Reasoning and Mathematics questions which earlier used to be hard were easy this year."

Dheeraj Kumar said, "The overall level of difficulty was difficult to moderate. The puzzles in Reasoning section were tricky while syllogism and inequalities were easy. The Reading Comprehension questions were lengthy but were easy. The Quantitative Aptitude section too was good."

Quantitative Aptitude

This section this year had no questions from Number Series. The difficulty level was moderate. Questions were asked from Approximation, Data Interpretation, Quadratic Equation and Arithmetic. An attempt of 22 can be considered as good.

English Language

Compared to other two sections, this section was tough. Questions were asked from Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Fill in the Blanks, Word Exchange, Error Spotting, Phrase Replacement etc. An attempt of 20 can be considered as good.

Reasoning Ability

The difficulty level of this section was moderate. There were no questions from syllogism. Questions were asked from Coding-Decoding, Puzzles/Seating Arrangement, Blood Relation, Word Based questions, Number based questions etc. An attempt more than 27 questions can be considered good.

IBPS PO 2019 Expected Cut off 

As per the feedback provided by the candidates, IBPS PO cut off for prelims is expected to be around 62-66 for General Category. Check below IBPS PO expected cut off for prelims.

What after the prelims exam?

Candidates qualifying the prelims exam will be called to appear for the mains exam which is scheduled to be conducted on November 30, 2019. Successful candidates will be issued IBPS PO admit card 2019 for mains exam in November. The Main examination is of 225 marks, 200 marks for an MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) test and 25 marks for a Descriptive Test in English.
