IBPS PO 2019 mains exam is scheduled to be conducted on November 30. Being two days left for the exam, it is necessary to keep certain mantras ingrained in your mind to crack the cut off marks. Here are few last minute IBPS PO tips that will boost your confidence and help you to score good marks in the exam.  IBPS PO is the most competitive exam because of its spiraling number of candidates taking the exam. As the exam date is near, it is important to stay motivated and focused.

Last minute tips for IBPS PO

Exam Pattern: IBPS PO exam pattern for mains exam comprises four objective tests - Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation. Total marks allotted to the objective is 200. There will be total 155 questions in the objective tests. The mains exam also have one descriptive section - English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). There will be two questions and total marks allotted to the descriptive section is 25. Total duration of the test is 3 hours.

Time Management: One of the crucial components to score better in IBPS PO mains exam is utilization of time. Managing time helps candidates to attempt maximum questions with ease. Since there is sectional timings, therefore candidates should not spend more time on any question.

Previous years’ question papers: Candidates must go through the previous years’ question papers to cater their knowledge on the exam like difficulty level, type of questions and more. This way it will be easy to put maximum efforts on topics with maximum weightage.

Guess work: Candidates keep the guess work at bay. They should also keep in mind that there is negative marking for wrong answers. This will inevitably impair candidates score.

Sticking to a particular question: Candidates should not stick to a particular question. Be fair in allocating time to each of the questions.

Mock test: This is the most effective way of exam preparation. It helps to understand the strong and weak points. But during the last leg of preparation, candidates focus more on revision.

Candidates should keep the following points in minds while appearing for the exam.

  • Candidates must be present in the examination hall before the time given in IBPS PO admit card.
  • Bring the admit card along with photo identity proof to the exam centre.
  • Any stationary item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner are not allowed.
  • Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc. Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hair-pin, Hair-band, Belt, Cap, Watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, Any metallic item.
  • Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle are not allowed.
  • All ornaments like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc. will be thoroughly checked.
  • Any candidate who is found either copying will be disqualified.
  • Candidates should bring pencils, eraser and a ball point pen.
  • Biometric data (Right thumb impression) will be captured twice at the examination venue.
