State Bank of India (SBI) conducted SBI PO 2023 mains exam on January 30, 2023. According to students, the overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate. The sections in the objective-type paper were moderate to difficult. Students found the Data Analysis & Interpretation section to be tough, whereas, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness and English Language sections were moderate. The Descriptive Test of SBI PO was easy to moderate. The topics of Essay writing were financial help and development of libraries through the help of NGO, equal participation of boys and girls in developing India. Candidates were also given to write letter to the branch manager for moving minor account to major account.

SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern 2023

SBI PO mains exam pattern comprises objective-type and descriptive-type papers. The objective section carries questions from Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness and English Language. The descriptive/subjective-type paper carries questions from English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The test paper carried a total of 157 questions. Total marks allotted to the paper are 250. The duration of the test is 3.5 hours. The structure of the paper is given below.

Shiksha visited one of the SBI PO mains exam centres in Ranchi to gather the feedback of candidates regarding the overall difficulty level of the exam. Check below the feedback shared by students.

Rahul said, “The level of the mains exam was moderate. The Maths section was difficult whereas English was easy. The Reasoning section was moderate to difficult. The General Awareness section was easy to moderate. Mostly, questions in Maths were asked from Data Interpretation.”

Saswati said, “The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. I found the GA and Quant sections were difficult.”

Aman Kumar Jaiswal said, “The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. The descriptive paper was easy. In the Descriptive paper, we were asked to write one letter to the branch manager to convert minor accounts to major accounts.”

Kunal said, "The paper was moderate in terms of difficulty level. GA and English sections were moderate.The Reasoning and Maths sections were tough. The Descriptive paper was tough."

Aditya Singh said, "The level of the paper is moderate like previous years'. The Maths section was tough and rest of the sections were moderate. In Maths, questions were asked from DI, Data Sufficiency, Number System, Quadratic Equation."

Yes. There is negative marking in the SBI PO exam in both Prelims and Mains for the objective-type questions. For every wrong answer 0.25 marks or 1/4th marks are deducted but for un attempted or skipped questions none of the marks are deducted.

The application fee for the SBI PO exam varies or differs as per the categories. For General and OBC category it is INR 750 and for SC/ST/PwBD there is no fee it is exempted.

The selection process of SBI PO exam consists of three rounds. The selection process is" Prelims, Mains and Interview. Several changes were also done in the exam pattern for the SBI PO exam.
