NDA Shift Timing 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the NDA 1 exam 2026 on April 12 at several centres across the country in two shifts that is morning and afternoon. The Mathematics paper will be conducted from 10 am to 12:30 pm in the morning shift and GAT in the afternoon shift from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. Scroll down for more details on NDA shift timings.

NDA Shift Timing 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the NDA 1 exam on April 12, 2026. The shift timings and time table was reelased by the UPSC on the official portal at upsc.gov.in for the NDA 1 exam. The NDA 1 exam will be conducted in two shifts. In the first shfit that is from 10 am to 12:30 pm, Mathematics paper will be conducted and in the second shift from 2 pm to 4:30 pm GAT paper will be held. In the NDA admit card, all the details related to the shift timings and all are mentioned. Candidates need to report for the forenoon shift at 9:50 am and for the afternoon shift at 1:50 pm. 

NDA exam is conducted twice a year by Union Public Service Commission for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). The exam is conducted in two stages: written exam and SSB Interview.

NDA exam time for forenoon and afternoon shifts is given below.

NDA Exam Pattern 2026

NDA exam pattern is such that it is divided into the written exam and SSB interview. The exam paper of NDA written exam is divided into two parts, GAT and Mathematics. The GAT paper carries a total of 150 questions while the Maths paper carries a total of 120 questions. Each paper of the exam is held for 2 ½ hours. The GAT section carries 600 marks while the Mathematics section carries 300 marks. The GAT section is divided into two parts. Part A comprises English while Part B consists of General Knowledge. The SSB interview carries 900 marks.

NDA Exam Timing 2026: Exam Day Guidelines

NDA exam day guidelines are given below:

  • Candidates can check NDA admit card carefully and bring discrepancies, if any, to the notice of UPSC immediately
  • Mention name, roll number, registration ID and name & year of the examination in all the correspondence with UPSC
  • Bring the printout of NDA admit card along with the original photo identity card
  • Candidates must preserve their admit cards till the declaration of the final result
  • Candidates are advised to visit NDA exam centre in advance to familarise themselves with the location to avoid the last minute hassle in their own interest
  • They should reach the exam centre well in advance for frisking
  • Candidates should read the instructions carefully before the exam
  • Candidate should not bring or use any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches, etc., or camera or Bluetooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination
  • Use of normal or simple wrist watch by candidates is allowed inside the examination hall. However, use of watches fitted with any special accessory that might be used as communication device or smartwatch is strictly prohibited and candidates are not allowed to take such watches into the Examination Rooms/Halls
  • There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked by a candidate
  • Answers other than those made by black ballpoint pen will not be evaluated
  • Candidates are advised not to bring any valuables/costly items to the exam hall
  • Candidates who do not have clear photographs on the e-admit card will have to bring a photo identity proof and two passport size photographs one for each session for appearing at the examination with an undertaking
  • Wearing of mask/face cover is mandatory for all candidates. Candidates without mask/face cover will not be allowed entry into the venue
  • Candidates, however, will have to remove their masks for verification, whenever required by the exam centre officials
  • Candidates may carry his/her own hand sanitizer (small size) in a transparent bottle
  • Candidates need to follow COVID-19 norms of social distancing as well as personal hygiene inside the examination hall as well as in the premises of the venue

NDA Exam Timing 2026: Dress Code for Exam 

UPSC have not released any NDA 1 dress code. So, candidates must wear simple clothes and check these guidelines:

  • Wear simple and comfortable clothes
  • Avoid full sleeve outfits, heavy jackets or layered clothing
  • Do not wear caps, scarves, or sunglasses inside NDA exam hall
  • Footwear should be simple, avoid shoes with thick soles

What are the items prohibited inside the NDA 1 exam hall?

Candidates should not carry the below mentioned items to the examination hall:

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches and Bluetooth devices
  • Calculators or electronic gadgets
  • Notes, papers or study material
  • Bags, wallets or valuable items

Yes, you can give the NDA exam as you have qualified the Class 12 exam. As per the age requirement candidates age should lie between 16.5 to 19.5 years to apply for the NDA exam. However, go through the eligibility criteria properly once before applying for the exam.
