NDA 2026: UPSC has extended the NDA 2 2026 application last date to apply until June 11. It was started on May 20. The NDA 2 exam will be conducted on September 13,2026. Scroll down for more details on NDA 2026 exam.

The UPSC has extended the last date to apply for the NDA 2 2026 exam. Candidates can apply until June 11 instead of June 9. The NDA 2 2026 application form link was activated on May 20 along with the release of the Notification PDF. Candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria before applying for the NDA 2 exam. The NDA 2 exam is schedule to be conducted on September 13, 2026 at various centres across the country. It will be conducted in two shifts.

The NDA 1 notification was out on December 10. The last date to fill NDA 1 application form was December 30.  Read below for more details on NDA 2026.

Q:   What is NDA cut off?
A: 

NDA cut off is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to secure in the written exam and SSB interview. UPSC prescribes cut off marks for written exam and final selection. Candidates need to secure separate qualifying marks in written exam and SSB interview. Candidates securing the NDA cut off marks are called for subsequent rounds of selection process. NDA exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of National Defence Academy and Indian Naval Academy course. NDA selection process comprises written exa and SSB interview. Candidates qualifying the written exam by securing the required cut off are called for the SSB interview. Candidates need to secure the cut off marks in the SSB interview also.

A: 

NDA cutoffs are released on the official website in PDF form after the declaration of the final result. The cutoff marks are also provided on this page after it is announced by the examination authority. The cut off are released separately for written exam and final selection. Candidates need to secure the cut off marks inorder to get selected in the exam. The steps to check NDA cut off marks are given below:

Q:   When is NDA cut off released?
A: 

NDA cut off is released after the completion of the exam. The cut off is released separately for the written exam and final selection. There are also sectional cut off marks for the exam. Candidates need to secure 25 per cent in each subject of NDA exam. Based on the cut off marks of the written exam, candidates are selected for the SSB Interview. The final cut off is decided based on the written exam and SSB interview. 

Q:   How to check NDA cut off?
A: 

NDA cut off is released after the declaration of the final result. The cut off is released separately for written exam and final selection. The process to check NDA cut off are given below.

  • Go to the 'Cut off' page from 'Examination'
  • Click the NDA cut off link
  • The cut off is displayed on the screen
  • Download the cut off and save it

NDA Application Form 2026

NDA 2 application form last date is June 11. To fill the application form, candidates need to first create the one time registration ID. After creating the OTR ID, they can apply for the exam. This is a one time process and the ID is valid for applying to the exams conducted by UPSC. The application fee is INR 100. SC/ST candidates/female candidates / Wards of JCOs/NCOs/ORs are exempted from fee payment. Both male and female candidates can apply for NDA & NA 2026.

  • On homepage, scroll down to Account Creation section for new candidates

  • Register by entering email ID, mobile number and other details

  • Verify email and mobile number, create a password and submit

  • Once account is created, log in with Registered email ID and password or Registered mobile number and OTP or Universal Registration Number and password

Q:   Are there any allowances along with the NDA salary?
A: 

There are multiple allowances offered to the Officers along with NDA salary such as Uniform Allowance, Dearness and Transport Allowance, Para Reserve Allowance, Technical Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Hostel Subsidy, High Altitude Allowance, etc. The Army Aviators (Pilots) in Lt and above in Level 10 and above serving in the Army Aviation Corps are entitled to flying allowance of INR 25,000 (R1H1 of Risk and Hardship Matrix).. .

Q:   Does each armed force have separate NDA cut off marks?
A: 

No, NDA cut offs are the same for all armed forces - Army, Navy, Air Force and Naval Academy. The cut off for the written exam is calculated out of 900 marks. Moreover, candidates are also required to secure the sectional cut off marks in the exam. Candidates need to secure separate cut off marks in the written exam and final selection. NDA Cut Off is released after completion of the NDA exam along with the NDA Result. NDA cutoff is will be released separately for the written exam and the final selection. The written exam cutoff is calculated out of 900 marks. The last selected candidates’ scores are used to determine the final selection cutoff, which is based on their performance out of 1800 marks (900 for the written exam and 900 for the SSB interview).

Q:   What are the passing marks in NDA?
A: 

Candidates are required to score a minimum of around 25 per cent marks in each subject to clear the NDA written exam. The total marks allotted to the written exam are 900. Besides the subject-wise cut off marks, the examination authority also decides overall cut off marks for different defence services. Candidates are required to secure both section-wise and overall cut off marks. To be in the final merit list, candidates are required to secure separate qualifying marks in the written exam and SSB interview.

Q:   What is the maximum number of attempts allowed for NDA exam?
A: 

Candidates can apply for the exam within their age. The educational qualification is Class 12 pass. The eligibility is prescribed by the examination authority for candidates. Applications are accepted only who satisfies the eligibility.

 

NDA Eligibility 2026

NDA eligibility is fixed by the examination authority. This comprises age, qualification and physical standards. Candidates must be aged between 16.5 to 19.5 years. Only unmarried candidates can apply for the exam. Those who have passed Class 12 are eligible. Candidates who are appearing in the Class 12 can also fill the application form. NDA Eligibility is same for both male and female candidates.

Q:   Does NDA select cadet according to academy vacancy or service vacancy?
A: 

NDA select cadet based on service vacancy. It is according to the number of officers required at that time. But the academy accommodation also plays a role. The existing infrastructure at the academy can accommodate a certain number of cadets each term. If it is extended or the intake is greater than the capacity, the training standards will drop.

Q:   How many cities could an applicant choose for NDA exam?
A: 

Candidates can select one city for NDA exam while filling the application form. The preferences of exam cities are required to be entered in Part 2 of NDA application form. The exam centres are allotted on a first-apply-first-allot basis. Once the capacity of a particular centre is filled, the same is frozen. Therefore, to get the preferred exam centre, candidates need to apply early. The examination authority reserves the right to allot exam centres to candidates.

NDA Exam Pattern 2026

NDA exam comprises written exam and SSB Interview. The written exam carries 900 marks. The SSB Interview comprises 900 marks. NDA exam pattern is given below.

NDA Syllabus

NDA exam syllabus is decided by the examination authority. The standard of the syllabus is high school level. NDA syllabus is given below.

Maths-Matrices and Determinants, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Analytical Geometry Of Two and Three Dimension and Statistics and  Probability, Algebra, etc.

English-Vocabulary, Comprehension, Cohesion, Preposition, etc.

General Knowledge-Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, General Science, Geography, and Current Events.

Q:   Is there any minimum qualifying marks in NDA exam?
A: 

Yes, candidates need to secure 20 to 25 per cent in each subject of NDA exam. Besides, candidates need to secure the NDA cut off separately in the written exam and qualifying marks. The total marks allotted to the written exam are 900, the GAT section carries 600 marks and Mathematics section carries 300 marks. The SSB Interview carries 900 marks.

Q:   How many times can a candidate appear for the NDA exam, and what is the minimum qualifying marks required to pass?
A: 

NDA exam is conducted twice a year by UPSC. Candidates can appear for both the sessions of NDA exam. NDA 1 exam is conducted for admission to the courses commencing in January. NDA 2 exam is conducted for admission to the courses commencing in July. To qualify each section of the NDA exam, candidates need to secure 25 per cent in each subject. NDA exam is conducted to select candidates for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Fotce wings of National Defence Academy and Indian Naval Academy.

Q:   What is the training process after joining NDA?
A: 

The selected candidates for the three services-Army,  Navy and Air Force are given preliminary training both academic and physical for a period of three years at the National Defence Academy which is an Inter-Service Institution. The training during
the first two and half years is common to the cadets of three wings. All the cadets on passing out are awarded degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi as under:
(a) Army Cadets: BSc/ BSc (Computer)/ BA
(b) Naval Cadets: B Tech Degree
(c) Air Force Cadets: B Tech Degree /B Sc/BSc  (Computer)
All the cadets undergoing B.Sc/B.Sc (Computer)/BA Degree programme are awarded the degree on the successful completion of Academics, Physical and Service Training at NDA.
All the cadets undergoing B Tech programme are awarded the B Tech degree on the subsequent Pre Commissioning Training
Academies/ Institutions/ Ships/ Air Craft
The selected candidates of the Naval Academy are given preliminary training both academic and physical, for a period of four years at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The cadets of 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme are awarded a B Tech Degree on successful completion of training.

NDA Admit Card 2026 

NDA hall ticket will be released on the official website by the UPSC. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging with the required credentials. The hard copy of the call letter is not sent to candidates by post. Candidates need to carry the printed copies of their NDA admit cards along with one photo-identity proof to the exam centre.

NDA Exam Analysis 2026

The NDA 2 exam will be held on September 13 at various centres across the country. After the completion of each shift, analysis is provided here based on the feedback received from the students. Analysis of an examination plays a crucial role in the preparation. With the help of NDA analysis candidates will come to know the difficulty level of the NDA exam, topics asked in the exam, good attempts, candidates' feedback and more. NDA Result 2026 

NDA 2 result 2026 will be announced on the official website at upsc.gov.in. The NDA 1 2026 result was released on May 8. It comprises the roll numbers of qualified candidates. NDA result PDF is released name and roll-number wise. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks.

Those candidates who will qualify will be called for the SSB according to the academy and force opted by the candidates. The successful candidates of the written exam are required to register themselves online on the Indian Army website within two weeks to generate the SSB call up letter. NDA scorecard is released after the completion of selection process.

NDA Selection Process

NDA selection process comprises written exam and SSB interview. Merit list is prepared based on the performance in both the stages. Medical examination is carried out at the time of SSB interview. The total marks for the NDA exam allotted is 1800 out of which written exam is of 900 marks and SSB is of 900 marks. The training academy is National Defence Academy. The NDA exam is conducted twice a year. Both male and female candidates can apply for the exam. Candidates between16.5 to 19.5 years and who have passed Class 12 pass can apply for the exam. NDA 2026 selection process started with the release of notification. Yes, you can give the NDA exam as you have qualified the Class 12 exam. As per the age requirement candidates age should lie between 16.5 to 19.5 years to apply for the NDA exam. However, go through the eligibility criteria properly once before applying for the exam.
