CUET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) is a national-level entrance test for admission to undergraduate programs of top central and other participating universities. As the exam day approaches, test takers need to be prepared not only for exam but must follow the CUET exam day guidelines and instructions. CUET UG 2026 exam will be held from May 11 to May 31 in CBT mode.

CUET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines: Important Guidelines

National Testing Agency (NTA) releases several guidelines for the students, like what things they can bring and what's not allowed in the examination hall, what stationery and documents the candidates are allowed to bring on the exam day, and several other important instructions. Candidates can check the same below:

  • No candidate will be allowed without the CUET admit card 2026. Candidates are advised to check the details mentioned on the hall ticket carefully, and in case of discrepancy, they should contact NTA. The CUET hall ticket 2026 will carry details like:
    • Candidate’s name

    • Centre address

    • Reporting time at the exam centre

    • Centre gate closing time

    • Exam date

    • Test and shift timing

  • Apart from the CUET 2026 Admit Card, candidates must also carry the following documents to the CUET test centres:
    • Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in
    • Original photo ID card, such as an Aadhar card, college identification, a driver's license, a passport, or a PAN card.
    • Transparent ball point pen
    • Additional photograph same as uploaded in CUET application form 2026
    • PwD/PwBD certificate issued by the authorised officer
    • Sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange) in case the candidate is diabetic. 
    • Watch
    • Transparent water bottle
    • Black ballpoint pen
  • Candidates will not be permitted to take items such as:
    • Pencil
    • Eraser
    • Correction fluid
    • Calculator
    • Logarithm table
    • Electronic gadgets
    • Mobile phones
    • Shoes/footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are NOT permitted
  • Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination Hall/Room. Candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top of each of the sheet(s) and must hand over the sheet/s to the invigilator without fail, before leaving the Examination Hall/Room. Failure to do so may result in a non-evaluation of your answers

Q:   How can I check my CUET exam centre?
A: 

Candidates can check the CUET 2026 allotted exam centre upon release of CUET intimation slip and CUET admit card. Only candidates who will fill the CUET application form along with the successful application fee payment will be able to download the intimation slip for CUET exam. The name of exam centre will be mentioned on the intimation alip in advance to help candidates make preparations accordingly. The CUET 2026 admit card is expected to release three to four days prior to the day of examination in online mode. Candidates will be able to check the following details on the release of CUET 2026 admit card:

  1. Name of the candidate
  2. Registration number
  3. Category
  4. Location
  5. Date of exam
  6. Time of exam
  7. Exam centre name & address
  8. Photograph
  9. Signature
  10. Instructions related to the exam 

Candidates must note that the CUET exam centre once allotted, no request for change in exam centre will be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to carefully enter the exam centre preference while filling the CUET 2026 application form.

Q:   What is CUET UG exam slot and timing?
A: 

CUET 2026 exam was held in two slots. first slot was held between 9 AM to 12 PM and second slot was held between 3 PM to 6 PM. Candidates could check the exact subject-ise timings on their admit card. 

Q:   What is the CUET exam duration for each subject?
A: 

As per CUET exam pattern, the subjects are divided into three sections as:

Section I- Languages 

Section II- Domain Subject

Section III- General Test

Candidates will get 60 minutes for each subject. Candidates will not be given extra time.

Q:   How is CUET exam centre allocated?
A: 

CUET exam centre is allocated on the basis of the preferences entered by the candidate while filling the CUET application form. NTA allotes exam centre as per the preference entered and is subject to availability and logistical consideration.

While filling the CUET application form, candidates can select four cities of their choice. Choice of CUET exam centre cities will be limited to the State of permanent address or State of present address only. In case there are very few candidates from a city, the NTA reserves the right to merge one, two, or more cities.

CUET 2026 exam will be held in May-June 2026 in computer based mode over a month window. The exam will be held across more than 300 exam cities in India. Candidates will be able to know the alloted exam centre on issuance of CUET intimation slip or CUET admit card.

Candidates appearing for the CUET UG 2026 exam must ensure to check the below guidelines:

  • Carry the following documents at exam centre
    • CUET UG 2026 hall ticket
    • Self-Declaration form for Non-Aadhar candidates
    • Any government-approved ID proof
    • Passport-size photograph
  • Follow the prescribed dress code
  • If religion/customs requires to wear specific attire, visit the centre early for thorough checking and mandatory frisking
  • Verify the location of the test venue a day in advance to not face any problems on the day of the test

Candidates appearing for CUET UG 2026 exam must strictly avoid certain mistakes that can disqualify them to appear for exam. Check the important instructions below:

  • Do not carry the prohibited items like electronic items
  • Do not carry any personal belongings like a bag, wallet, handbag, etc
  • Do not wear jewellery/accessories
  • No food or medical equipment is allowed unless medically permitted
  • Do not wear footwear with high heels and long-sleeved clothes at the exam centre

Candidates must reach alloted CUET exam centre two hours before mentioned exam time. Candidates must complete verification process and take their seats immediately after the opening of examination hall. If the candidates does not report at alloted CUET exam centre on time due to traffic, delay in transport, important instructions to appear for the exam can be missed.

Q:   Has CUET UG date sheet been released?
A: 

CUET UG 2026 datesheet is released soon after the registration process is over. Candidates can check their CUET 2026 exam schedule on their intimation slip or admit card also. CUET UG 2026 exam will be held in CBT mode. Last year, NTA did not release the official CUET examination schedule, however, candidates can check the schedule for applied subjects on their admit cards, when released. Candidates can know the CUET subject wise slots, exam dates and timings.

Common University Entrance Test/ CUET UG is an entrance exam. It is conducted for admission to UG programs offered by various central, state, private and deemed universities. Candidates willing to take admission to undergraduation programme in streams like Science, Humanities, Commerce, Law and Management must appear for CUET UG exam when conducted.

This entrance examination assesses candidates at various levels: Language, domain knowledge and general aptitude. CUET UG is conducted annually in computer based mode. CUET UG scores are accepted by more than 300 universities across India.

CUET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines: Dress Code

On the day of the examination, candidates must follow the CUET exam dress code to appear for the test. Refer below to know the CUET 2026 exam day guidelines for dress prescribed by NTA:

  • Heavy clothes with long sleeves will not be permitted.
  • In case, candidates come in cultural/ customary dress at the Examination Centre, they should report at least an hour before the last reporting time so that there is enough time for proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the examination.
  • Slippers, and sandals with low heels are permitted. Shoes are not permitted.
  • In case of any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of NTA must be taken before the release of CUET 2026 admit card.

CUET 2026: Other Important Instructions for CUET UG Exam

Candidates who are appearing for the CUET exam 2026 are advised to check the CUET exam day guidelines below:

  • Candidates should try to reach the examination centre 1-2 hours before the CUET Exam begins. It must be noted that candidates will not be allowed to enter the CUET 2026 exam centre 30 minutes prior to the exam commencement.
  • No candidate shall be permitted to leave the Examination Room/ Hall before the end of the examination
  • If religion/customs require you to wear specific attire, please visit the Centre early for thorough checking and mandatory frisking
  • Frisking through a Handheld Metal Detector (HHMD) will be carried out without physical touch
  • Candidates must enter the required details, paste the Photograph and put a thumb impression at the appropriate place on the CUET Admit Card 2026. They should ensure that their Left-Hand Thumb Impression is clear and not smudged
  • Candidate must carry “Any one of the original and valid Photo Identification Proof issued by the Government”- PAN card/Driving Licence/Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/ E-Aadhaar/ Ration Card/ Aadhaar Enrolment No. with Photo. All other ID/Photocopies of IDs even if attested/scanned photo of IDs in the mobile phone will NOT be considered as valid ID Proof.
  • A PwD candidate may be allowed Compensatory/ Extra time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination, whether such a candidate(having a physical limitation to write) uses the facility of Scribe or not
  • PwBD candidates must bring a PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority if claiming relaxation under the PwD category. The Scribe provided by the NTA must also carry his/ her own Self Declaration (Undertaking) regarding educational qualification, passport-size photograph, valid government identity
  • A duly filled-in Admit Card must be handed over to the Invigilator while leaving the examination Hall/Room. Failure to do so may result in the non-evaluation of your answers
  • No Candidate should adopt any unfair means or indulge in any unfair examination practices. All the Examination Centres are under surveillance of CCTV and equipped with Jammers
  • The candidate should ensure that the Question Paper available on the computer screen is as per his/her opted subject/medium indicated in the Admit Card. In case, the subject/medium of the Question Paper is other than his/her opted subject/medium, the same may be brought to the notice of the Invigilator concerned
  • The candidates are advised to carefully read the Subject-Specific Instructions and other instructions mentioned in the Question paper and abide by the same
  • If at any stage, it is found that the candidate has submitted multiple applications, his/her candidature will be cancelled and legal action will be taken, including debarring in all future examinations conducted by NTA.

No, CUET-UG is not a mandatory entrance exam for GGSIPU BCom admission. Candidates who did not appear in CUET-UG can also appear in IPU CET which is conducted by GGSIPU itself. During counselling rounds, candidates can be evaluated based on this exam's score as well.

No, CUET is not a compulsory exam required for getting admission in SAGE University Bhopal. The university accepts CUET scores, admission is primarily through the SAGE Entrance Exam (SEE) or merit in qualifying exams.

No, VELS School of Mass Communication does not accept CUET or any other entrance for that matter. All courses accept merit-based admissions. Which means, only your Class 10/ 12/ UG marks will be considered depending on the programme.

No, CUET-UG counselling is yet to begin for academic year 2026. Results for this year's exam are scheduled to release by July. Counselling rounds will begin only after results have been declared. Candidates can track counselling dates from website of TISS, Mumbai for BSc admission.
