JAM syllabus
Exam dates for IIT JAM 2019 have been declared. The entrance exam for MSc and other post-bachelor course admissions is scheduled to be conducted on February 10, 2019. Application process for the exam has not commenced yet. All interested candidates can start filling JAM application form on the official website of the exam from September 1 onwards. The application process is scheduled to end on October 1, 2018.
While IIT JAM 2019 application process is scheduled to commence soon, it is important that candidates start with their preparation for the exam. But before creating a preparation strategy it is also important to know JAM 2019 syllabus well.

IIT JAM is conducted for seven test papers – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biological Sciences, Geology, Biotechnology, and Mathematical Statistics. JAM 2019 consists of three sections as mentioned below:
- Section A: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Section B: Multiple Select Questions (MSQs)
- Section C: Numeric Answer Type (NAT)
All candidates need to take the exam in online mode and complete their respective test papers in a duration of three hours. Check detailed syllabus for the exam below:

Students do not need to wait until 2028. Students from the 2024–2028 batch can appear for IIT JAM 2027 while in their final year (3rd year). It will make them eligible for admission to MSc Economics in 2027.

No, coding skills are not required during the exam. IIT JAM does not have a dedicated Computer Science test paper. IITs admit students through the standard Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics JAM papers for courses like MSc Computer Science. These exams test pure mathematical logic rather than so

No, the competition has been fluctuating over the past 3 years for the M.Tech CSE programme in the 3rd round for the General AI category. In 2026, the cutoff for this course was 625. In 2025, it was 635. In 2024, it was 620.

Your Class 12 marks does not matter for admission at IIT Goa for the MSc courses. For admission at this IIT for the MSc programme, you would need to first have a Bachelors degree with at least 55% marks for the General and OBC categories (50% marks for the SC, ST and PWD categories).

No, according to the IIT Dharwad MSc cutoff 2026 for the third round, you cannot get into this college. For the General AI category, the round 3 closing rank was 708.
But you can get into IIT Goa in the third round. This college had the 3rd round cutoff of 775 for the General AI category.
