Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is one of the top-ranking universities in the country. In the NIRF rankings in 2023, BHU is ranked in fifth position under the "university" category. Moreover, as per the university NIRF report 2023, 480 UG (three-year) students were placed out of 3,564. The median package given to the placed candidates stood at INR 8 LPA. Candidates who have completed Class 12 or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate can apply for Banaras Hindu University BA (Hons) course. Aspirants must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. Besides, aspirants must also pass CUET-UG for admission to BA (Hons) programme.

For admission to a BHU BA (Hons) course, aspirants need to complete the CUET-UG application process. NTA carries out the registrations in online mode. Eligible students can visit NTA CUET 2025 website to apply. The application process includes registration, form filling, document upload, and payment of the application fees. Further, to submit the application successfully, candidates must pay the fee on time. Admission to the BA (Hons) programmes at BHU is based on CUET-UG scores. Only the students with a valid score on this exam are admitted by the university. The entrance exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Moreover, CUET-UG exam was is usually held in May. Candidates must download their admit card on time to take the test.

Admission to most of the BHU UG and PG courses is through CUET score. However, for some courses such as PhD, MFA, etc. the university has a separate admission criteria. Candidates must check the admission requirement for the preferred course before applying for admission.

The hostel fee structure for BHU is INR 3,000 - INR 4,000 per semester depending upon the degree. The hostel fee does not include mess charges. Banaras Hindu University is spread across a 1,300-acre campus. There are 41 hostels for boys and 21 for girls. Additionally, there is separate accommodation for international students. All the hostels have basic amenities like water purifiers, a common room, recreation room, mess, TV, laundry services, security and surveillance system, etc.

Yes, the BHU CUET counselling process for both UG and PG courses is carried out in online mode. Candidates have to visit the BHU admission portal to register for the counselling process. The form filling, document upload, and fee payment also has to be done in online mode. Fee payment can be done through credit card/debit card/net banking.
