The full form of CUET is Central University Entrance Test which is an all-India level entrance exam conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate courses offered in various participating colleges. In the field of Arts and Humanities, some of the popular BA (Hons) specialisations include Mass Media (Hindi), Economics, English, among others. In addition to these popular specialisations, Jamia Millia Islamia offers BA (Hons) programme across 17 specialisations along with a BA programme. Despite the popularity, it is always recommended that the selection of specialisation in any course must depend on students’ stream, interest and academic background.
Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA must have passed Class 12 or SSC with a minimum aggregate ranging from 40-50%. The passing percentage is different for different specialisations offered in the BA programme. With an annual intake of over 900 students for BA and BA (Hons) programmes (including all the specialisations), admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA and BA (Hons) is subject to either CUET (conducted by NTA) or JMI entrance exam. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting 2022, admission to a few BA (Hons) specialisations is CUET-based and for the rest, it is university-level entrance-based.

As per the CUET UG website, students seeking admission to BA at Jamia Millia must appear for and qualify CUET exam. However, since some universities are also considering other components while giving admission to CUET-UG based courses, it could be a possibility of getting into JMI without CUET.
