LPU BDes Highlights 2026
LPU offers a four-year BDes programme spread across eight semesters. The university offers the programme at the UG level in eight specialisations. Some of them are Graphics, Film and TV Production, etc. Apart from regular BDes, LPU also offers lateral entry to the programme. The university provides lateral entry in specialisations like Fashion, Interior and Furniture, etc. Candidates can check the LPU BDes eligibility criteria below:
Eligibility: Class 12 with English with at least 50% aggregate is required to apply for LPU BDes programme. For candidate, who has not studied English, condition of English can be waived off provided candidate in qualifying exam has studied in English medium. There is a 5% relaxation for students from North-east states and Sikkim or defence personnel and their dependents or wards of Kashmiri migrants.
Eligibility for BDes Lateral Entry: Candidates need to complete three-year Diploma in Interior/ Architecture/ Civil after completing Class 10 or two or one-year diploma after Class 12 to apply for BDes (LE).

Lovely Professional University offers a four-year BDes programme spread across eight semesters. The university offers LPU at UG level in eight specialisations, namely User Experience, Interior & Furniture, etc. Apart from regular BDes, LPU also offers lateral entry to the programme. LPU B.DesLPU BDes Fees 2026
Total LPU BDes fee can vary as per specialisation. The fee structure includes components like tuition fee, hostel fee, registration charges, etc. Students getting any scholarships have to pay lesser LPU fee for the BDes course. The fee can be paid online by Credit/ Debit card, or by Demand Draft. The university also accepts cash payments. Candidates can also apply for hostel facility. The university provides multiple sharing rooms in the hostel. The hostel fee has to be separately by the students. Also, the hostel fee differs for each type of room. The admission cycle of LPU usually begins in October or November. LPU BDes Admission Process 2026
The LPU admission process for BDes course begins with registration process followed by selection rounds. Candidates can check below steps to get into BDes at LPU:
STEP 1: LPU BDes Application Process 2026
The exam fee for LPUNEST (soft copy of LPUNEST KIT) is INR 1,000 for males and INR 500 for females. The printed LPUNEST Kit is INR 1,500 for boys and INR 1,000 for girls. Check below the steps to apply for LPU admission:
- Visit official website of LPU, https://www.lpu.in/, and click on the ' Apply Now' tab at the top of the web page.
- Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email-id, mobile no., state, gender and password). Email id used during registration acts as username for portal and password has to be set by candidate while registering. Candidates can continue to apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purpose).
- Upload documents.
- Pay application fee and click submit to complete application process.
STEP 2: Book Exam Slot
This step is only for candidates appearing for LPU NEST exam. Candidates have to select exam date and shift for appearing in exam. There are two ways to book slots that are slot booking by candidate and slot booking by authorities of Lovely Professional University.
STEP 3: Selection
LPU shortlists candidates for BDes programme based on LPUNEST, UCEED, NID Entrance Exam or NIFT Entrance Exam score. Candidates can also get admission to BDes based on CUET scores. The university will also consider the academic performance of the candidates for final selection. For lateral entry, the admission will be based on merit in the last qualifying exam.
