Overview

PU CET PG exam pattern 2026 shows that test will be held in offline mode. It will be a pen-and-paper-based exam. Total duration of test will be two hours. Panjab University conducts PU CET PG exam every year for admission into various postgraduate courses offered by university and its affiliated colleges. Exam pattern helps students understand structure of paper, marking scheme, and type of questions. Knowing PU CET PG exam pattern 2026 in advance allows candidates to prepare better and manage their time effectively during examination.

Pattern for Masters in Remote Sensing & GIS/ MA (Geography)/ Masters in Disaster Management 

  • PU-CET PG will be held for a duration of 2 hours
  • The exam will be an objective-type test wherein candidates will be provided four answer options
  • The number of questions will be 75
  • The total number of marks will be 75 marks

Master in Public Health

  • The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes
  • It will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each.

MA (English)

The written Test will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration and will carry 75 marks. The pattern of the CET should be as follows:

MA (History)

  • Entrance Test to be of 1 hour 30 minutes and of 75 marks. Candidate to attempt 3 questions in all. Question No. I is compulsory, of 8 concept related questions of which the candidates answer 5. Each question to be of 5 marks, to be answered in 80-100 words each
  • Question No. II is related to BA (General) History Syllabus, essay type questions from ancient, medieval and modern periods of History and History of Punjab, to be answered in 1000 words. Each question will carry 25 marks
  • Question No. III to be from Current affairs / significant contemporary social themes to test comprehension of candidate and communication skills, to be answered in 1000 words. Each question will carry 25 marks. The student can answer in English, Hindi or Punjabi
