Being a private institute, SRM Kattankulathur offers several hostel facilities and basic amenities at a cost ranging from INR 1 Lakh to INR 2.5 Lakh. As per SRM University Chennai cutoff 2024, the last-round closing rank was 195886 for admission to the MBBS course. The Round 1 closing rank for the same stood at 637582 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. 

For BDS admission, the NEET UG first and last-round closing ranks were 980273 and 980273, respectively. 

The university fee structure is cumulative of several components, such as caution deposit, tuition fee, hostel fee, and more. A few of these components are one-time payable, while some have are charged annually/semesterly. SRM IST Chennai MBA tuition fee ranges between INR 1.9 Lacs and INR 11.5 lakh. Moreover, the one-time fee range between INR 1,200 and INR 11,000 and the hostel charges range between INR 1.45 Lacs and INR 3.3 lakh.

So, the assumed expected cutoff for the upcoming admission session 2025 can be stood between 200000 and 400000 for the General AI category candidates. Although, it is an estimated guess and the NEET cutoff is subject to many factors such as competition, difficulty level of the exam, and previous year trend.  

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur offers the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme to students who wish to pursue an illustrious career in the Business Management field. Candidates looking for course admissions must meet the eligibility criteria set by the college. For UG courses, candidates must complete Class 12 and for PG courses, students must complete graduation. The university provides direct admission to courses such as BA, BCom, MSc, etc., based on merit of Class 12. Yes, the Kattanlkulathur campus of SRMIST offers BCA programme. It is a three-year UG course. For admission to the programme, aspirants should have passed Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate. In addition, aspirant should have studied either of the mandatory subjects - Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics/Allied Mathematics. The seat allotment is carried out based on merit in the last qualifying examination. 

Here are some positive and negative points of SRM University: 

Positive:

1. Located in Chennai which is a metropolitan city. Three out of five campuses are located in Chennai
2. You can have a lot of fun
3. In KTR, there are a lot of opportunities provided to students to develop their profile like hundreds of clubs, teams like robocon, conrods, camber, and 4ze where students can build their own bots, cars and stuff. If you are really interested in your field then you can do anything in SRM
4. Canteen facilities are excellent
5. As far as placements are concerned, most students are placed in IT sector. Core companies also visit the campus but they select only one or two students. In a batch of 500600 students i.e. 1520 students are placed in core companies. But still that depends on your skills and we can’t blame the university for that.

Negative:

1. The student to faculty ratio is too high.
2. Faculty members are not very highly skilled, though they are postgraduates in their respective field. Most of them have completed M.Tech from other local colleges. There are very few from IITs and foreign universities.
3. The curriculum is old. 
4. The evaluation system is also not very good.
5. Very little research happens here. Most of the faculty members don’t have any publications
6. Also, if you have a lot of money you can join in management quota into any branch you want. Almost half of the students have joined in management quota.

No, SRM IST does not accept CUET score for admission to any of its UG & PG courses. The university conducts its in-house entrance exam for BTech and MTech, i.e., SRM JEE. Further, for admission to MBA course, the university accepts scores of national-level entrance exams such as GMAT, CAT, MAT, TANCE, etc. SRM University also offers direct admission to courses such as BA, MSc, etc., based on the merit of last qualifying exams of previous education.
