A roller coaster journey in VIT.
Placements: I joined in 2021; it started in online mode due to COVID. But eventually offline classes started after 2 months. Overall, it was a good experience. The labs were well maintained with good equipment. Many companies visited, like Lapcorp, TCS, Biocon, Syngeneic, and OG Healthcare. Many were placed. It's all up to you how you perform. The grading system is a bit different from the relatively simple grading system that VIT follows.
Infrastructure: Hostels were both affordable and costly. You will get it based on merit, starting from 30k to 2.5 lpa. AC/non AC 1-6 sharing rooms are there. The labs are well-equipped, with plenty of instruments. Good exposure is there. The library is massive, with a large selection of books available for loan by scanning your ID.
Faculty: 3 exams (CAT1, CAT2 and FAT), 2 digital assignments and 2 set projects per semester. All the teachers were qualified and helpful. But some are not that supportive. The course curriculum is a bit difficult; you have to take on pressure to complete all the exams and projects. Pass percentage is average; if you study, you will pass.
Other: VIT is a bit crowded. But hostel life was great. You will get everything. We have Nescafé shops, juice shops, canteens, cake shops and even Domino's inside our campus.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: Top recruiting companies like Dr Reddy's laboratories, Novozymes, Biocon, Hindustan Unilever and various reputed pharmaceutical companies visit our college for our course placements. Students can apply for various positions like quality control, quality assurance analyst, R&D and bioinformatics field. There is a huge scope in life science field if you work in the right direction. I just entered into final year and not yet up for the placements so I cannot provide adequate information regarding the packages.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The library is well-equipped. Wi-Fi facility is available both in the library and in the hostels. A health centre is available right inside the campus. The taste of food varies from mess to mess because all the hostels have their own mess. Gym and other sports facilities are available here.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are friendly and approachable. They are well-qualified with a PhD degree and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good, and there should be two-way interaction. Teachers are doing their jobs perfectly so we should do our part too for fruitful results. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready because every semester we do several projects and gain the working experience of the same and get to present our work. Biosummit and other conferences are conducted where students can directly interact with the industry experts.
Other: Every year fest named Riviera is conducted at our college, which is one of the biggest fests across the country. Various clubs are available to conduct extracurricular activities.

Review of VIT University - Vellore Institute of Technology.
Placements: Almost 80% of the students got placed in high profile biotech companies in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad such as Bicon, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Bhat Biotech, etc. The highest salary offered is around Rs. 25,000 per month, and the lowest salary offered ranges from Rs. 15,000 to 20,000 per month. Most of the students joined in quality control as well as in R&D sections. Rest of the students opted for PhD.
Infrastructure: VIT provides high-quality facilities. It not only provides a great atmosphere for students all over the campus but also in the hostels. There is a high-speed Wi-Fi facility. There are high tech laboratory instruments. The library is world-class, which provides all sorts of information. VIT hostels are well-maintained and hygienic. Water and electricity supply is available 24x7. The food served in the hostel mess is very good and hygienic.
Faculty: All faculty members in VIT are well-known for their renowned work all over India as well in the world. All the course which is provided to us is relevant and well-designed. It will be beneficial for the students for future exposures.
Other: I have chosen this course in VIT because I found that VIT is the only university in India which provide students with high-quality facilities along with world-class exposure to learn more and groom themself for the future.

I have gained experience to handle any situation.
Placements: VIT provides lots of placement option for students. Each year, more than 20 companies recruit students. Almost 60% of students get placed every year. The average salary offered ranges from RS. 20,000 to 40,000 per month. About 92% of students are provided with a better internship in India and abroad. Hindustan Private Ltd, Biocon, etc., are the famous companies visit VIT for recruitments and internships. Companies like Hindustan offers Rs. 20,000 per month for a six months internship programme. Each department consists of placement cell governed by faculty members.
Infrastructure: VIT provides the most modern kind of technology support for students. Infrastructure is highly modern and students friendly. Smart classrooms are another highlight of VIT. More than 6 catering service available in VIT hostel, and we can choose anyone according to our desire. Rooms are well-furnished and cleaned.
Faculty: All faculty members in our college are PhD holders, and teaching quality depends individually. Some of them are very good, and some are not. Notes are provided in PDF and PPT form. Study curriculum was less compare to B.Sc. Students may feel pressure because of much lab works, and schedules are highly strict. VIT provides only one-day industrial visits.
Other: Revera and Biosummit are most famous fest celebrated in VIT. VIT provides only the scholarship of Rs. 10,000.

A place to learn and a chance to grow.
Placements: This institute is known for 100% placements while it is true in the case of engineering students. For us, life science students, the guarantee of getting placed is very little. In our case biotech companion and some educational institutes came for placements which were diverged from our line of field. These companies offered a package of 3-5 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is excellent with all the facilities of Wi-Fi, smart class, advanced laboratories and a library. The fully flexible curriculum system (FFCS) and wide ranges of courses helped students with diverse interests. Hostel rooms are really good and spacious with all kinds of indoor games and bad gym facilities.
Faculty: All the faculty possess PhD degrees and are highly qualified for the undertaken course. The curriculum here is very flexible which helps the students to manage their time with extra curricular activities. Both indoor and outdoor sports facilities are offered with professional trainers. Final semester of our course was in an industry which gave us industrial exposure. We also had a few industrial visits.

This is a place to learn, providing a chance to grow.
Placements: VIT is known for its 100% placements, and this is true in the case of engineering, but for other science courses, it is not true. A very few companies visit the college for the recruitment of science students. There were no placements for our senior batch. A few companies visited the college for our batch, but they were not relevant to the courses. Some pharmaceuticals and educational institutes visited the college to offer placements. The placement cell functions in an excellent way in which it makes sure that most of the students get placed in the college placements.
Infrastructure: There are both normal and smart classrooms with projector screens and blackboards. The smart classes are coming up from 2017. The laboratory facilities are excellent with all equipment and instruments needed for any experiment or projects. The labs are spacious and well-maintained. The library is one of the best found in VIT. Indoor and outdoor sports, courts, fields, and tracks are present. A medical centre and ambulance are available 24*7 for any emergency. Hostel rooms are well-maintained, and there are both AC and non-AC rooms.
Faculty: All the faculty members are PhD holders. They are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Faculty members have their own labs to do the advanced studies in their area of research. We have fully flexible curriculum system (FFCS) in our college, and not many colleges have this system. This system is a plus point to us as it gives us the liberty to choose the course of interest, faculty and also the time of the classes.
Other: A cultural fest named Riviera and a tech fest named Gravitas shoot out wide opportunities for the students to build their careers.

A place to learn, chance to grow.
Placements: VIT university is ranked among the top colleges in India mainly for it's high rates of campus placement. The placement cell runs sincerely and dedicated for around 10 months and the placement faculty is always active all year round. The students receive constant emails and notifications about the updates and also a few articles on how to Ace an interview. Most of the top companies in South India visit the campus for seeking their potential employee. It's made sure that every student, topper, average or below average graduate from the college with a job in hand. For Microbiology, companies like Biocon, Novozymes, Sun pharma, Novo Nordisk, Anthem biosciences, Dr. Reddy's Pvt. Ltd. and many other companies conducted interviews. Almost all the students aspiring for a stable industrial life have been placed and still hold a respectable position in their respective companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Vit is the first factor in attracting the students. It is green with tall trees and has a good amount of space for the students to sit and hang out with friends after class. The campus has a no- vehicle facility and hence is almost pollution free. The classrooms are big, spacious, well lit and well ventilated. The campus is kept clean 24*7 with the help of our beloved "akka's" and "Anna's" the tall buildings, specially the building called SMV is hexagonally built and this is where the lectures take place. The library is every geek's dream come true. All the books are available and operate at a computer level. There is a computer room with internet facilities, all in the three storied building. Wi-Fi of 10GB limit iis Available for students to carry on with the academics research, a few unsuitable sites are restricted for the progress of the students.
Faculty: The faculty is strict but loving and caring in their own manner. Completion of syllabus is taken seriously and never have they strike. The lectures happen via PPT and reference books. The syllabus is to the point and we'll illustrated. There is a scheduled time given to meet the teacher outside of class hours to solve doubts related to academics of their subject. Regular conduction of exams ensures that the students study regularly and the marks are graded via CGPA system. The students are encouraged to take up semester wise projects. These are then evalutaed and presented in the annual set conference. Plays a huge role in building the students confidence and enhances scientific thinking.
Other: There are infinite number of student clubs and organizations, and if it still does't suit your taste, you are at the liberty to form your own club. The annual fest - Riveria is the biggest cultural fest in college of four days and famous singers, comedians and a few actors make appearances to entertain the students. "Gravitas" is another annual fest where children /students show off their skills pertaining to academics or dance/singing. It hosts a variety of food joints and fun games. Biosummit is an important, seriously taken conference where prominent scientists from all over the world are invited and their work is discussed. This helps the students to learn what is happening around the world and also increase their networking skills by talking to these great scientists.

The college is very good, developed and has an advanced education system.
Placements: The placements usually start after appearing your 6th semester of a bachelor degree, and for PG, it starts in 3rd semester. After completion of my PG in Applied Microbiology in the year of 2013, I got placed in Heritage Foods Ltd, Hyderabad as a microbiologist.
Infrastructure: The college ranks 8th among all the universities in India, and it is a 1st rank university in private sector. It is very well-built, and it has 600 acres main campus which is located in Vellore district of Tamilnadu. The education system is also very well-developed and maintaining it like IITs.
Faculty: The faculty members of the VIT University are very much focused on the career of the students. The course of all the degrees is also very well systematic, which covers all the subjects via semester. There is also a facility available to learn foreign languages, and it starts at the beginning of your 1st or 2nd semester.
Other: VIT University has 3 campuses currently, and out of 3, two are located in Tamilnadu, that is in Vellore and Chennai, and the new campus is in Amravati, capital of Andhra Pradesh.
