Hostel facilities at IIT Bombay:

  • In order to ensure that students have a comfortable stay at the hostels, all of the dorms have a 24-hour power source. Additionally, there is a backup power supply, and an electrician is on call to rapidly install it if there are any technical difficulties.
  • Wi-Fi Internet Services: Wi-Fi is available in every hostel at IIT Bombay. Each student receives a different login credential that they can use to access the network. Additionally, the internet connection is excellent and seamless.
  • Well-appointed common areas: Each hostel has a common area with a TV and some indoor activities, including chess and other board games. Together, students can play, unwind, and learn. It is accessible around the clock and is used for group studies, particularly before exams.
  • Gym: nearly all students have access to a gym facility where every sort of equipment is available. According to his or her wants and requirements, a student can seek advice on exercise and diet regimens. The gym opens at specific times in the morning and evening and operates according to those schedules. It has enough room to hold 20 to 25 students at once.
  • There are reading rooms designed specifically for learning, though one can study anywhere in the hostel area. With reading tools like newspapers, magazines, and other publications, the atmosphere is more akin to a library. Students agree to keep quiet so that everyone can concentrate on their academics.
  • The hostel has a tuck shop where you can buy snacks and other supplies. Because students might require refreshments and a break from studying during the night and exams, it is available. Fruits, dairy goods, office supplies, and a printing and copying device are available.
  • Salon: The ladies' hostel has a parlour with all the services that can be offered.
  • If a student's family or guardian is coming to visit them on campus, they are welcome to remain in one of the guest rooms the hostel has to offer. The lodging staff must be notified in advance in order to check on availability. The restrooms are located inside tidy rooms. The female visitors must stay in the girls' dormitory. Similarly, the male visitor is assigned a room in the hostel for boys.
