SET 2025 exam day guidelines: Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) was conducted in a computer-based test mode across 80 cities in India. SET 2025 was held on May 5, 2025, and May 10, 2025. Being properly prepared for the exam day is an important part of the preparation for any entrance exam, hence, students must devise a strong SET exam day strategy so that they can optimise their performance on D-day. During the last days of the SET 2025 exam, candidates should have covered a significant chunk of their SET preparations 2025. Before students appear for the SET exam, they need to understand the rules and regulations to abide by on the exam day. In this article, we will share some important dos and don’ts that you must keep in mind on the SET 2025 exam day.

SET Exam 2025: Exam Day Checklist

Thoroughly read the guidelines shared by Symbiosis International University regarding the SET exam day strategy. For a hassle-free exam, you need to know the SET Exam Dos and Don’ts. It is very important that the aspirant not only read the instructions carefully but also understand and remember them on exam day.

  • SET Admit Card: The SET admit card 2025 is the most important document that must be carried to the exam centre. Candidates appearing for the Symbiosis Entrance Test must take a coloured printout of the SET admit card at least a day before the exam date. Please Note: Candidates must carry a coloured copy of the SET admit card as black and white admit cards will not be accepted. The admit card must be printed on A4-size paper such that the candidates’ photos are clearly visible. SET admit card will be available for download on the official SET website. The admit card is also an important document needed for the verification process. Candidates who are appearing for two sessions must carry two different admit cards with them to the exam centre.
  • SET Exam Centre: Candidates are expected to reach the SET exam centre at least one hour before the commencement of the exam. Reaching prior to the exam time will help in completing the verification process quickly and easily. Candidates from another city must check the location of the exam centre a day before the exam. Candidates appearing for SET 2025 must note that they will not be allowed to enter the exam hall after 8:30 AM. The exam will begin at 9:00 AM. Therefore, the candidates must aim to reach the centre by 07:30 AM. Candidates also need to get their SET admit card 2025 stamped and verified by the authorised person at the SET test centre. If the verified admit card is lost, no duplicate admit card will be issued.
  • ID Proof: Candidates must carry a valid photo ID proof issued by the Government of India, such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter Id, Passport and Driving license for the verification process. They must carry the original ID proof along with a photocopy. The scanned copy will not be accepted. The photo of the candidate on the ID proof should be clearly visible and should match the photo on the SET admit card.
  • Stay Calm: The most important guideline for the SET exam day is staying calm and confident throughout. A calm mind will help you tackle the questions easily and score well in SET 2025. Read the instructions given on the SET question paper calmly and carefully before attempting the exam.

Dos and Don’ts on SET Exam Day

Carry a simple blue or black ballpoint pen

Do not carry any electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, calculators, cameras, etc.

Candidates will be given a rough sheet for calculations. They have to write their names and seat number on the sheet and after completing the exam, it has to be submitted to the invigilator

Any guardian, parent or relative accompanying the candidate will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

Candidates must make their own travel and stay arrangements to attend the tests

Candidates will not get any facility for safekeeping their personal belongings, bag, etc., inside or outside the hall.

Candidates must follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and social distancing at all times

Candidates must not carry any paper or cheating material with them to the exam hall.

Candidates should be wearing a mask and carry a hand sanitiser

SET 2025 Exam Day Guidelines to be Followed at the Baggage Area

Candidates must adhere to the following instructions at the Baggage area:

  • Sanitize your hands after entering the exam centre
  • A limited number of candidates will be allowed at the baggage area at a given point of time.
  • Candidates can carry only a mask, gloves, ballpoint pen, hand sanitiser, transparent water bottle, hall ticket and ID proof inside the exam hall. 
  • The lab number will be informed by the volunteer at the time of verification. 

After SET Exam Guidelines

Following are the guidelines which the students who appeared for the SET exam 2025 should follow:

  • Candidates must drop the exception form, if any, in the drop box outside the lab
  • Rough sheets must be dropped in a separate drop box outside the lab. 
  • Follow the instructions given by the volunteer along the exit path. 
  • Do not dispose of used masks and gloves at the centre or outside the gate.

Q:   Will the SET BBA exam be conducted in double shifts?
A:

No, the SET exam will be conducted in a single shift. SET exam is usually conducted in a single shift for one hour, i. e. from 9 AM to 10 AM. The exam was, however, is conducted on two days. 

However, in 2020, the SET exam was conducted in the remote-proctored mode in order to follow the social distancing guidelines for COVID-19, and the students had the option to choose the exam slot according to their preference and convenience. SET exam pattern was also changed after 2020. 

Q:   Can I carry a watch, eatables and water to the SET exam centre? Which documents should I carry to exam centre?
A:
Eatable and drinks are not allowed inside the SET exam centre. But, candidates must carry their personal transparent water bottle to the exam centre and follow the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour at all times. Electronic gadgets including watches, mobile phones, calculators, smart devices, etc. Are prohibited inside the SET exam centre. Candidates should carry recent passport size photograph, photo ID (original and photocopy) and SET admit card along with them to the exam centre.
Q:   Can Symbiosis SET be given remotely?
A:

No, the SET exam cannot be given remotely. Every year the SET exam is conducted in the computer-based test mode. In 2021, the exam was however conducted in the internet-based test mode because of the coronavirus pandemic. Ever since, the SET exam has always been conducted in the computer-based test mode (CBT). To take the exam, candidates have to visit the SET exam centre and take the exam online. They can choose upto three preferred SET test cities during the SET exam registration. Candidates must reach the test centre at least an hour before the commencement of the exam in order to avoid any hassle on the exam and complete the frisking formalities at the exam GATE smoothly.

Q:   What all items can I carry to the SET exam centre?
A:

Every candidate must carry a blue/black ball point pen and a two copies of their passport size photo to the exam centre. They must not carry any stationary item other than the pen. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, SET candidates are required to carry drinking water, hand sanitizer, face mask and gloves along with them. Candidates have to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle. No other item will be allowed inside the exam venue. Candidates must not carry bags or valuables as there will be no arrangement for depositing while candidates appear for the exam. Candidates must also not carry notebooks or rough paper to the SET exam centre. Any candidate found with an unauthorised item will be disqualified.

Q:   Will I be allowed entry to the SET exam centre if I reach later than the reporting time?
A:

The SET exam will be conducted from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates should ideally reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam starts. Hence, candidates must reach the exam centre on the time mentioned on the admit card in order to avoid any hassle. The gates will close at 11:00 AM for the SET exam. Candidates will not be allowed to enter after this. To complete the frisking formalities at the GATE and be seated by 11:20 AM, candidates should reach the centre on time. They can also leave the SET exam centre only once the exam is over. 

Q:   What are the important documents to be carried to the SET exam centre?
A:

The important documents to be carried to the exam centre include the following:

  • Two coloured printouts of the SET admit card
  • Photos of the candidate affixed to the SET admit card (preferrable the same as the one uploaded in SET application form)
  • Valid photo ID proof (issued by the Government of India) such as Passport, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Pan Card, etc. 
  • Black or blue ball point pen
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Transparent water bottle
