SET 2021: Internet-Based Test Guidelines

SET 2021 will be conducted in the internet-based test mode. Read the article below to know the guidelines for the IBT mode exam.

Symbiosis Entrance Test 2021 (SET) will be conducted in the online proctored mode. Earlier the exam was scheduled to be conducted on July 27, 2021, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the exam schedule and pattern have been revised. Due to the increasing coronavirus cases in the country, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) decided to conduct the SET 2021 exam in online proctored mode with the help of Artificial Intelligence and Human Proctoring. SET 2021: Guidelines for Online Proctored Mode of Examination

Candidates can take the SET 2021 from their homes using a laptop or a desktop (with a webcam) and a 2 MBPS uninterrupted internet connection with unlimited data consumption limits. Applicants have to take the exam through IBA launcher. Applicants must remember that they will be invigilated using Artificial Intelligence and Human Proctoring. Candidates must take the exam ethically and honestly as Symbiosis University holds the right to disbar the applicant if he/she is found to be involved in malpractice.

Technical Instructions

• Applicants must use a laptop/desktop which has Windows 7, 8, 10 and Ubuntu LINUX (14.1 and 16) version
• If the student is using a laptop, then he/she must make sure that the laptop is connected to an uninterrupted power source throughout the exam
• The laptop/desktop must have a minimum of 4GB of RAM and Intel Core i3 processor or above
• There must be at least 100 MB of free space on the system
• Students must be seated in front of the laptop throughout the exam duration
• The zoom level of the internet browser should be 100%
• The face of the applicant must be clearly visible, hence they must sit in an area that has good lighting
• iOS and Android devices are not supported
• Candidates will be required to fulfill the IT infrastructure requirements needed to take the test 
• Antivirus and Firewall must disabled or uninstalled for the exam duration

Instructions to be Followed During the Exam

• Candidates must not leave their seats throughout the exam because their videos and images will be recorded and supervised in real-time with the help of AI and Human Proctor. If they do so, it will be considered a violation
• Students must take the exam in formals or smart casuals
• There shouldn't be any noise or disturbance in the background 
• No electronic gadget other than the mobile phone which has the registered mobile number will be permitted during the exam
• Candidates must not open any other application window and if anybody would be caught doing so, he/she will be disbarred
• No breaks are allowed during the test
• Candidates cannot use any electronic gadget such as a tablet, calculator, etc. while giving the exam. They can only use plain paper and pencil after showing it to the invigilator
• Candidates are not allowed to talk or speak during the SET exam
• Candidates must not disturb the position of the webcam during the exam. It will auto-submit the test and the exam will not be accessible by the students thereafter
• Candidates must use the same system for all the tests
