Old college yet excels at modern engineering.
Placements: Around 80 percent of students got placed from our course. Among them, 15-20 students got more than 20 LPA, and around 50 students got 7 LPA-18 LPA, and the rest got less than 7 LPA. The highest package is 58 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is 8 LPA. The recruiting companies are Microsoft, Google, Texas, Wells Fargo, Synopsis, etc. 40 percent of students got on-campus internships, and overall, 80 percent of students got an internship.
Infrastructure: Overall, the department is okay, but it needs more space. Labs and libraries are good. Wi-Fi is also available. Hostel infrastructure is bad, and the mess is also not good since this college is very old, the building and toilets have been used for many years without renovation, so it's a bit disappointing, but now they are constructing a new 10-storey 1000-seater boys hostel with a modern look. I hope they increase the quality of the food.
Faculty: Academically, teachers are very good and friendly. They are very supportive of research and projects. I feel the curriculum is a bit outdated, it'll be better if they include more practical subjects and hopefully remove some useless subjects. Semester exams are relatively easy. Mostly, 95 percent of students pass with a CGPA above 7.
Other: I am very interested in the hardware side, so I chose this course. I feel like I made a very good decision after coming to this campus, as our branch is comparatively better than all branches except CSE. There is a very good culture among students on our campus. There is no ragging, and seniors are very friendly. Since our campus is in the city, everything is very easily available to us, so it's very easy to go outside the campus. The fests are a big thing here and are conducted with great planning, and are enjoyable.

Students here will definitely enjoy.
Placements: Almost 80% of students get placed in our department. The highest salary package offered in our course is 54 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. The average salary package offered is 19 LPA. Top recruiters are Microsoft, Google, Tata, Atlassian, and others. Top roles are offered by Microsoft, Google, Tata, and Atlassian.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is very good on the overall campus. Labs, classrooms, and a library are well-maintained. Wi-Fi is available in classrooms. Our labs are good. Air conditioners are available in the computer science lab. Quality food is available in the mess and canteen.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. They help us like a friend. The course curriculum is relevant and helps us to get jobs. Semester exams are quite good. Questions asked by the professor are in the notes. The passing percentage is around 40%.

Absolutely satisfied because of our college faculty and internship opportunities.
Placements: Our college provides good internship opportunities from good companies like Microsoft, Accenture, Google, and Amazon. The average package of B.Tech IT branch students is 12 LPA. We should learn coding well and learn languages clearly. Java is the most preferable language for internships.
Infrastructure: Our college has a full Wi-Fi network all around the campus, along with the hostel and library. It has good infrastructure, and food in the mess is average. We can make our food menu. There will be a selection in our hostel for the mess committee to prepare a good menu that is eatable.
Faculty: Our college has very good faculty, and they completed their Ph.D. in very prestigious institutions, holding very good ranks in GATE and having good salaries here. They are very strict, and their correction is very strict, meaning we can’t get full marks in our exams.

Good placements, infrastructure needs improvement, experienced faculty.
Placements: In the department of Information Technology at IIEST Shibpur, the placement record for the year 2023 was 82.11 percent. The highest package was 51 LPA, offered by Microsoft. The average package was around 19 LPA. Some of the companies that recruited students from my department were Google, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Accenture, and Deutsche Bank. Seven students from my department got internships at Microsoft, and three students got internships at Google. The top roles offered were Software Developer Engineer and System Design Engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good but need maintenance. There are various facilities like Wi-Fi enabled buildings, fully equipped labs with air conditioning, digital classrooms, and the Ramanujan Library which has more than 5000 books available on a variety of topics. The hostel provides a community television, carrom, table tennis, a canteen, and a mess. The mess food is pretty okay. But the hostel should be maintained properly, and the staff is not properly responsive to problems. There is a hospital in the campus which is open 24/7. There are mainly two grounds, Lords and oval which support cricket, football and athletics. There is also basketball court, volleyball court, swimming pool. Badminton is present in each hostel.
Faculty: Most of the professors at this college are from IITs and are well-equipped with knowledge. However, if you come from far away, language can be an issue. The course curriculum includes all the relevant topics in the industry, such as machine learning, DSA, and AI. Semester exams can be tackled if you study smartly. Finally, 75% attendance is mandatory if you want to sit in exams or placements.
Other: I chose this course because even in a recession, the placements are decent. The course prepares you for the industry. The course could be improved by a more practical approach. The campus life is enjoyable, with many events held regularly by the various clubs. Many students are able to attend college because of scholarships. Sporting events are held regularly.

IIEST has one of the oldest and largest alumni circles
Placements: About 90% of the batch got placed, and the highest package is 56 lakh , the average package is about 20 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. Top recruiters are Microsoft, Google,Tata , Atlassian, etc. Almost all students got internships in Microsoft, Google, Texas, etc. In the IT department, the main roles are cyber security and cloud computing.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is present all over the campus, and the campus greenery is too fascinating and attractive. Labs, class rooms, and the library are above average. The infrastructure is old but is in the work in progress to renovate and build new buildings. However, overall, all are good. Food quality in the mess canteen is good because students have the authority to choose what they want for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Students can change the menu. The sports and games facilities are too good.
Faculty: Professors are really good, overqualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching methods are good and in easy and simple language. The curriculum is good and it’s been upgraded according to industrial uses . Yes, we can say it’s moderately tough semester exams. But if you carefully listen to the professor, then you can definitely get good marks.
Other: Batch size is about 90-100, so the professor can easily guide you. Kolkata’s largest fest is held by IIEST.

Bad infrastructure and good placement in CS IT .
Placements: 75+% of the students were placed in IT department. CS 90%+. Other branch range from 40 to 65%. Which is less than previous year, i.e., 95%+. The highest package was 84 LPA from Atlassian 1 student got it. Other than this, Microsoft, with 54 LPAs, hires around 7 students and Google with 50 LPAs, hires around 7 to 8 students from both CS and IT. Other than this Media. Net, Well Fargo, and DB also hire from here. The lowest was 3.3 LPA from tcs. And branches other than IT and CS have very low placement. I am not sure about percentage of students who got internships, but a good amount of students get internship on campus and around 90 % of them get PPO. Roles: SDE SWE, etc.
Infrastructure: This college lacks in infrastructure and buildings. And the infrastructure is old as college; the main building also is not well maintained; washrooms are also not clean; and in many lobby washrooms, they are not even present. The labs have old, outdated equipment that is not adequate for learning. As this college comes under the category of NIT's, its infrastructure is not upto the par and needs urgent attention. library is so small it's difficult to even get a seat in library at times of exams and library have no AC. Classrooms have no AC; only some labs in IT and CS Department have AC. Hostel facilities are average; for girls, it's at least bearable but for boys, they have very bad building and room conditions. And in the first year, 4 people have to stay in a room and after that, it gets promoted to 3 and 2 and at the end of the year, you can get a single room for 1 person. Mess food is quite good and it is us who will decide what we want in mess. And according the charges, they are applicable and at the end, you can even get refund or fine (you may have to pay extra some times ). There are 3 to 4 canteens in campus, and food there is very good and at a very reasonable price. There is hospital available inside the campus where any student can go if required (only an ID card is required) and 24/7 ambulance is also available in cases of emergency. Students are also provided with a sort of student health insurance. There are many clubs for sports and games such as badminton, cricket, football, chess, kho-kho, kabbadi, etc. And there are many inter-college and on-campus competition happening in college but the infra is the only problem They have 2 big fields for football (oval) and lord's for other sports but there is no budget provided by college for all this; it's self-sponsored or by some other sponsors. Badminton court is not there in the college.
Faculty: The teachers ate highly qualified professionals and most of them are passed out of IIT'S and from other big named institute such as ISI, etc. Teaching quality is also very good. The curriculum is old and not much needed in today's industry, though. The semester exams are actually hard and not very easy You have to study if you want to pass. Around 150 + students got back in Physics in my batch and same goes with mathematics. Proof are not based on copy-checking. average pass percentage is 95%+.
Other: This course would help me achieve my dream job, as can be seen in its placement states. best thing about the course is placement only. Improvement cannot be suggested yet by me, as I have to know more about it to make suggestion. There are many events happening in campus, i.e., sports competition, dance and singing competition, coding competitions, etc. Rebecca, the annual function of campus happens every year, which is great Event of 4 days with many famous personalities performing in campus. college has a very large alumni network great connections. The campus has greenery everywhere, but the surroundings are not that great It can be better as the area is West Bengal, but nothing better can be expected. Most of the students get scholarship and fee waivers through college. Students having family income less than 5lpa get 2/3rd tuition fee waiver and lesser than 1lpa gets full tuition fee waiver.

Very beautiful, green campus and research oriented college.
Placements: 95% of students are placed in our course. The average salary is around Rs 20 lakh per year. The highest package in our course is approximately 55 lacs per annum. Google, Microsoft, and TCS are the top recruiters. A software engineer or web developer is the top role offered in our course.
Infrastructure: The hostels are very old and need to be renovated. The food quality in the mess is decent. Classrooms are fully equipped with all the necessary things. All sports facilities are available and are open to all department students. Wi-fi is with low internet connectivity.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified and educated. Most of the professors are Ph.D. holders. The teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is not very relevant. Yes, it makes the students industry-ready. Some semester exams are quite difficult.
Other: I love coding, so I chose this course. A lot of fests are happening on campus, such as Rebeca, Instruo, Impetus, Sphuran, and many more.

Very lush green campus and great placement.
Placements: About 80% of students from the IT department get placement and the average package is 19 lacs per annum. The highest package is 54 lacs per annum. Google, Microsoft, TCS, and Texas are some of the top recruiting companies that visit the college campus and offer placement. About 50% of students get internships.
Infrastructure: Some of the buildings at the college are very old. 2–3 AC are there in our computer labs. In the library, there are sufficient books related to our course as well as other stories and science fiction. In our hostel, we get unlimited Wi-Fi. We get meals three times a day. On the campus, there are two big grounds: a basketball court, a volleyball court, and a badminton court.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful in our studies and they also teach well. Teachers are very enthusiastic in our class while teaching. The course curriculum is very relevant to our placement. The semester exams are quite difficult with respect to the other NITs. Here, the 40% mark is the pass mark.
Other: I chose the course because the average package of placement is high. As I love computer coding, this course is very helpful for me. Every year, the grand festival of REBECA is held on campus. Beside studies, students can enjoy their college life.
