The course-wise placement details for the Class of 2025 are yet to be released on the official website of IIT Kharagpur. As per the media reports, over 400 recruiters visited the IIT Kharagpur campus for 2025 placements and offered over 1,800 job offers, including 409 PPOs and 25 international offers to the students. Earlier, a total of 685 BTech students registered for the IIT Kharagpur placement session 2024. Out of these, 546 were successfully placed during IIT Kharagpur BTech placements 2024.

IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2025 was released for admission to BTech(Hons), BSc courses and their specialisations, as well as for the BArch course for all rounds and categories under the All India quota.

The last round cutoff in 2025 ranged from 466 to 19141 for the General AI category students, wherein BTech (Hons) Computer Science and Engineering was the toughest branch to get admission to. On the other hand, the easiest course for admission was the Bachelor of Architecture.

IIT Kharagpur JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 has been released for round 3. The cutoff was released category-wise for students seeking admission to the BTech/Integrated BTech/BSc specialisations at the college. For candidates belonging to the General AI category, the cutoff ranks varied between 450 and 18182. As per the cutoff range, it is possible to get admission to the college at 10,000 rank in JEE Advanced. The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Tech. (Hons.) in Computer Science and Engineering is 279 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology.

IIT Kharagpur BTech fees is between INR 8 Lacs and INR 10 lakh. However, this fee is been sourced from unofficial sources. Hence, is indicative. For the exact fee, students can reach out to the admission office. Other than this, students are required to pay the JEE Main application fee which is INR 625 (for boys) and INR 325 (for girls). IIT Kharagpur offers BTech and Integrated BTech courses based on JEE Advanced scores. Based on candidates' scores, the institute released the IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2024 for various categories belonging to the All India quota. As per the last-round, the JEE Advanced cutoff for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering programme stood at 415 for the General AI category candidates. As per the data fetched from multiple media reports, the IIT Kharagpur highest package offered so far during 2025 placements was above INR 2.14 crore per annum. As per official brochure, 1,811 offers were made to the 2025 batch.

IIT Kharagpur offers a joint MTech/ MCP PhD programme to students who have completed their UG degree in the relevant stream. Under this programme, at the end of the first year, interested students with a CGPA of 8.0 and above are eligible to appear for a written test and/or interview to check their suitability to enrol for PhD. Those who do not qualify for PhD can continue with their two-year MTech/MCP programme. Students selected for PhD will have to complete the two-year academic requirements of MTech/ MCP programme before enrolment for PhD. For these students, the MTech/MCP and PhD degrees will be awarded together upon successful completion of PhD. The programme is open to students of all categories with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ MSc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE, etc.) with a valid GATE score.
