IIT Madras MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIT Madras offers an MTech course at the postgraduate level in a full-time mode. The duration of this programme is two years. The institute offers 26 MTech specialisations along with three interdisciplinary specialisations for BE/ BTech graduates across 13 departments. Some of these specialisations include, MTech in Computer Science and Engineering, MTech in Biomedical Engineering, MTech in Aerospace Engineering, etc.
IIT Madras MTech admission 2025 is based on a valid GATE score obtained by eligible candidates. The seat allotment process is then carried out through COAP Counselling. Based on the GATE score, the merit list is prepared by the board and then seats are offered based on the availability of seats at the institute. IISc Bangalore conducted the GATE 2024 exam on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024. The GATE 2024 application form was released on 24th August 2024 on the official website at gate.iisc.ac.in. Candidates can apply for the GATE exam until the last date. Before filling out the GATE application form, it is advisable for the candidates to check the eligibility criteria. Median package received during IIT Madras MTech placements 2025 for branch such as CS and EE was 24.6 LPA and 22.1 LPA. In AE, BT, CH and CE branch, it was between 8 LPA and 18 LPA.
