IIT Mandi BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
IIT Mandi has a full-time BTech in different specialisations. These specialisations include Engg Physics, Microelectronics & VLSI, Computer Science & Engg, etc. The duration of these programmes is 4 yrs, further divided into 8 semesters. IIT Mandi BTech admission is based on JEE Advanced rank. Candidates who pass JEE Mains can take part in Advanced. The seat allotment is then carried out through JoSAA counselling. For selection, students need to fulfil the IIT Mandi BTech eligibility criteria as mentioned below:
Eligibility Criteria: A Class 12 or equivalent pass with a minimum of 75% aggregate in PCM.

IIT Mandi BTech Admission 2026: How to Apply?
IIT Mandi BTech admission is based on JEE Advanced scores. Only the candidates with a valid JEE Main rank are eligible to fill out the JEE Advanced application form. Candidates need to check eligibility criteria as well before applying for the course. The steps included in the IIT Mandi admissions for its BTech programme are discussed below in detail:
1: Application Process
Candidates wanting to take IIT Mandi BTech admission need to qualify JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The students need to apply and appear for both exams to be eligible for seat allocation conducted by JoSAA. The step-by-step application process for JEE Main is explained below:
1.1: Visit official website of NTA (nta.ac.in).
1.2: Click on "JEE Main 2026 Registration".
1.3: Enter required details and click on "submit" button.
1.4: Login and fill out the form.
1.5: Upload documents.
1.6: Pay application fee and apply.
The step-wise application process for JEE Advanced is as follows:
- Visit JEE Advanced’s official website.
- Register for the entrance examination.
- Upload required documents.
- Pay the application fees.
2: Counselling
After qualifying in the entrance exams, the next step is to register for JoSAA Counselling. A cut-off list based on JEE Advanced scores is released by counselling body. Seats are allocated to candidates who clear the required JEE Advanced cut-off for BTech admission at IIT Mandi. Selected candidates have to fill the seat reservation form.
3: Admission Confirmation
After seat allotment, candidates have to report for document verification. Candidates may have to submit seat reservation form as well and pay the required fee. The total tuition fee is INR 8.1 lakh, one-time fee is INR 22,000 and hostel charges range between INR 56,000 and INR 1.97 lakh. The mentioned fee is sourced from the official website of the institute/sanctioning body. It is still subject to change and hence, is indicative.
