Review of IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Placements: There are total 8 seniors, and from them, only 1 senior out of 2 seniors who attended for the interview got placed through campus placements. Other students have their own aims and objectives for the future, and from them, one student went to Germany through DAAD fellowship for pursuing masters. The other student went to NTU, Singapore for 3 months internship where he got much-needed exposure.

Infrastructure: Classrooms and lecture hall of the centre of nanotechnology are fully well-equipped with centralised air-conditioning. Laboratories are up-to-date. But it is a centre, so for final year project works, you need to be under different guides from different departments, so you might not be in your own centre for the entire final year during your dissertation.

Faculty: It's an interdisciplinary course where facilities are provided from the departments of chemistry, chemical engineering, civil engineering, biotechnology, metallurgical and materials engineering, mechanical and industrial engineering and physics. The course is superb and smooth for two semesters of the pre-final year. Professors are cooperative, helping and entertains the genuine request of the students.

Other: Our college organises cultural fest named AKA Thomso and technical fest named AKA Cognizance. Students can participate in them and organise events. The sporting facilities are somewhat fine, and there are student clubs for recreational activities. The Himalayan Explorer's Club regularly conducts treks, events and fun activities for students.

Golden Girl Scheme for female candidates (First Rank Holder/Gold Medallist from an IIT or Top 50 NIRF institution) exempts the requirement of qualifying an All India Level Exam. Candidates with AMIE/AMIS/AMIIChE/ AMIIM/ Grad IETE and a B.Sc. or Engineering Diploma with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience are also eligible.
