Glimpse of IIT Roorkee in 2025.

Placements: About 80% of students got placed till now with 4 months remaining before the session ends. The highest package offered till year is 2.3 CPA. The average package is around 17 LPA. Google, Microsoft, AmEx, Wells Fargo, Rubrik, etc., visit the college. Only 40% of students secure internships from my batch. Top roles offered are software engineer, data scientist, data analyst, and graduate trainee.

Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped. Libraries are stocked with a wealth of reading on all topics. Both the lecture hall complex and hostels are spotless and provide great study areas. Newly built hostels are Himalaya Bhawan for girls and Aravali for boys. They are great in terms of infrastructure whereas hostels which are old struggle with infrastructure. They are well-maintained. The college has excellent amenities, including Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, a library, medical facilities, sports, games, etc.

Faculty: Faculty members here are well-qualified as well as knowledgeable. They are skilled in their domain of research. They lack in terms of teaching to undergraduate students. The course is designed in a way that allows students to learn a lot without wasting time. Faculty members are also helpful in this matter. Semester exams are not very hard to pass. You can pass exams just by studying one night before the exam. If you want to score decent or above average. you have to work hard.

Other: I chose this course because I wanted to go to IIT Roorkee long before the JoSAA counselling. The life here at IIT R is unmatchable compared to other IITs. The best thing I like about the course is the faculty. They are lenient and very helpful. Courses should be more oriented towards industrial exposure. There are events all year. There are several clubs. Each club organizes an event. Talking about fests, Thomso Cultural Fest Cognizance Technical Fest, Sangram Sports Fest, and E-Summit- Entrepreneurship Fest are held.

This is a review of IIT Roorkee.

Placements: One of the best part of college is it has a very good alumni network and very good connections with high-paying companies like Google and Alphabet. These companies offer a variety of positions to students, so we can match our skill sets. The entire cost to the company on average is around 47 LPA.

Infrastructure: Hostels are nice, with very good Wi-Fi, but the infrastructure can be developed. Rooms could offer more space, and cleanliness is average. Some areas are below average. There are no curfew timings for both boys and girls. There are both day and night canteens available.

Faculty: Curriculum is very good. Teachers are cooperative with the students. Exams are conducted twice a semester, followed by some surprise quizzes. One section of the grade is based on overall class activities. Exams are usually on the tougher side, and grading is relatively strict.

IIT Roorkee: A dream of many students.

Placements: As I know, 33 out of 30 students get placed in good companies. Others are following their passion and do not appear for placements. The highest salary package offered is 50 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The average salary package offered is 18 LPA. From our course, we can become a financial assistant, marketing manager, advisory, and many more.

Infrastructure: Our department is fully equipped with the best infrastructure. The library has all the necessary books and past thesis. It looks fantastic. It has all facilities from air-conditioned classrooms to Wi-Fi in every corner of the department. Talking about the hostel, it has a gym, study room, computer room, music room, dance room, a mess, and two canteens. All facilities are available here. The mess food is not very good but it's better than other hostels that I lived till now. The quality and variety are the best in the mess but only the taste is somewhat missing.

Faculty: Faculty members are the best thing that I find in our college. They all graduated from the world's top universities. Almost all of them have Ph.D. in their respective subject domains. I find the curriculum interesting, and it is designed in such a way that even if we don't get placed. We can open our private office for consultancy. Semester exams are of moderate level. It is not very difficult. We have some subjects where it is hard to get good marks. In our batch, all students pass semester exams. I got to know from seniors that out of 33, 1-2 students did not pass the exam in their class.

Other: I chose this course mainly due to the course curriculum. One of the reasons is that it is available in only 5 IITs with small batches which makes it a unique course. It's just a single semester so I can't judge what can be better about this course. In topic of events, it's the best IIT. We have a total of 4 fests in a year. All of them are on the top fest list. Thomson and Cognizance are the most important fests from them. The campus is in Roorkee which is a big city. It is also connected to Delhi which is just 3 hours away. There are many scholarship opportunities for different types of groups.

IIT Roorkee is at number 1 in infrastructure among all the IITs.

Placements: 80% of students were placed in this course The highest package is 36 lakh. Lowest is 8 lakh. Average is around 15 lakh. HUL is one of the biggest recruiting company for this course. 40% of students got internships from your course. Chemist Technician, Chemical Engineers and Research Analyst are the top roles offered.

Infrastructure: Wifi, classrooms, self-study rooms, library and many more facilities are there. Medical facilities were free of charge and good too and sports and games facilities are also too good. Here you will get individual court/field for all the sports and food in mess is average but canteens are good.

Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, and their teaching qualities are also good. It is a relevant course curriculum and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not so difficult. You can manage your studies along with sports and other activities also. Passing percentage for the semester exams is around 95%.

It is a good college to join.

Placements: All students who attend for placements get placed. The highest salary package offered is about 1 CPA, and the lowest is 12 LPA. Recruiters are Gravitron, Rubrik, Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft, and many more. Around 70% of students got internships. Top roles offered are software engineer, data scientist, finance, blockchain, and research.

Infrastructure: They provide excellent facilities. The speed of LAN is nearly 700 Mbps. Classrooms are well maintained. The infrastructure is very good. Facilities in the hostel are very good, as each hostel has its own TV room, study room, cricket lawn, badminton court, and a personal gym.

Faculty: There are highly qualified teachers. They have enough knowledge in their fields. Each professor has published many research papers. The course curriculum is highly relevant. As students in this branch are brilliant, we have to study hard to get good grades.

Campus life is great, and it is worth the efforts.

Placements: The placement percentage is 100% in our batch, and the average package is somewhere around 33 LPA. The highest package offered in the previous year was nearly 1.8 crores per annum, and the top recruiters include Quantbox, Adobe etc. The internship rate is 90%. Roles like quant, SDE, etc., are the most popular roles offered.

Infrastructure: The facilities for our department are quite good. The mathematics and computing branch comes under the mathematics department, which is in the best building of campus. It has a library, study room, etc. On the contrary, the hostel and mess facilities are not so good, as the food is very repetitive and doesn't cater to the needs of students.

Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and hold PhDs in their respective fields. On the other hand, the teaching quality is not up to the mark. This course is completely relevant and provides immense opportunities in different fields of the industry. Exams would be easy if one studies well.
