Excellent infrastructure and friendly campus vibe.

Placements: Placement rate for B.Tech in smart manufacturing is reported as 28.6% ongoing. According to last year 2024, a much higher figure was indicated, with 73% of smart manufacturing batch placed. The highest package offered is 12.2LPA in 2025, average package offered is 6.75LPA in 2024, and the lowest package offered is 6LPA, according to 2024 data. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Adobe, Samsung, Google, Virtusa, etc.

Infrastructure: Lecture halls are technologically equipped to support dynamic discussions. Group discussion and interview room support placement activities. The entire campus, including the academic blocks and hostels Wi-Fi is enabled. LAN connections are also available in hostels. We have advanced department labs. The institute has specialized labs across disciplines.

Faculty: Teachers are supportive, and they are helpful to the students too much. Every faculty member is highly talented and knowledgeable. Everyone has done Ph.D. in their respective courses. The teaching quality is excellent, and they are using the smart boards when required and projector for slides. They often use the blackboard for better understanding of the students. They are giving homework, assignments, and projects to make a real-type prototype for every project.

Other: I chose smart manufacturing at IIITDM Kancheepuram because it is one of the first institutions in India to offer this unique program that blends Mechanical Engineering with Electronics, Computer Science, and Data Analytics. The course is closely aligned with Industry 4.0, which focuses on automation robotics, IoT, and AI in manufacturing. I wanted to gain interdisciplinary knowledge and skills that would prepare me for the future of modern industry.

A deep insight about IIITDM .

Placements: Around 73% is the average placement percentage. The highest package was 32 lacs per annum and the lowest was around 4 lacs per annum. The top recruiting companies are Google, Adobe, and IBM. As a fresher, I didn't know much about internships and all. The top roles offered are R&D ML engineer, SDE, and data scientist.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good; we have a 3-story library but it has a time limit; we also have LAN connections in hostels; we have 24*7 medical facilities; and we have sports facilities but not in hostels but on campus. The food is just okay; it is not too good; and the canteen, which is called the cafeteria here, does not contain all the food that is mentioned on the menu; and the hostel rooms are quite spacious.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and what they teach mainly comes in exams, and their teaching quality is average. Yes, the course is quite relevant. Semester exams are not too tough but you should score at least above 30 to pass a course. We have two exams mid-semester and end-semester, and sometimes two quizzes 1 and 2 instead of mid-semester.

Iiitdm kancheepuram review .

Placements: Placement is average in MSM. Nearly 60% of students got placed in different companies. Students are also placed in software companies. The average package is nearly 10Lpa and the lowest is 5 LPA. Top roles offered are SDE, Data Scientist, ML engineer and R&D.

Infrastructure: The big advantage of IIITDM Kancheepuram is its hostel infrastructure. One might get a double shared room in UG first year and later you will be allocated a single room. Each person is allocated a table, and a chair. Each room has its own balcony equipped with a cupboard. Mess food is not up to the mark. Purely south Indian food is provided. Wi-Fi is provided for 24 hours in the lab. Classrooms are fully furnished.

Faculty: In terms of academics, faculty members are mostly from IITs. The professors are highly skilled in their areas of expertise. Semester is not difficult too if you are attending daily classes. They will do relative grading. Students become industry ready because they get a well furnished lab for hand on experience.

Our college lab exposure is good and best for internship.

Placements: The placements offered were good when compared to many colleges, and many companies are visiting our college. We get the highest package of 10 LPA and the average package of 4 LPA. Best placement overall. We get the best companies like Ashok Leyland, TCS, etc. Every student wants to do five months internship as a compulsory course. The stipend depends on the project they are doing.

Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi, LAN, a huge and centralised library, 24 hrs medical facilities, and sports complex, our lab and classroom have modern facilities. The mess food is nice and hygiene. The hostel rooms are best when compared to many colleges. Our college is mostly in sensor technology. Some times we get a water issue due to water scarcity in Chennai. But they managed it.

Faculty: Our faculty members were the best and highly experienced. They had good knowledge and cleared the doubt we ask. Our syllabus is mostly based on design and manufacturing. We get a 5 months internship by our college even to foreign such as Germany, etc.

Other: As our college was started in 2007, this development is high. Our college is better than newly developed IITs and NITs. Our college is strict in the attendance percentage. The attendance percentage is 85 and above and if it is less than that they will not allow you to write the exam. They will be liberal. You can enjoy your college life.

I am dissatisfied with the placements for the fee we pay and join here.

Placements: Last year, the highest salary package offered was 13 LPA. Companies like Trimble, TVS, etc., visited the college for an internship. Around 10 students got placed in 7 companies. There is a placement cell, and it is working efficiently this year. It is a new campus, so we cant expect very high progress now. It needs to be established at least for the coming 3 or 4 years.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is excellent. Classrooms are very good with technical facilities. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled with high-speed. The library is also good. Labs are not so good because of poor funding of the institution. Food served was average. Hostels are good as it is a 14 floored building with geysers and water-coolers. Hostels are neat. Medical facilities provided are just like first aid purposes.

Faculty: The course curriculum is not organised for a few courses like smart manufacturing, while other courses curriculum is structured properly. Except for a few faculty members, the rest are very experienced. All of them are PhD holders from IITs in the country.
