IIM Indore announced the IPMAT dates and schedule. The IPMAT 2026 exam will be conducted on May 4, 2026. The registrations for IPMAT 2026 will likely begin in the second week of February 2026.

IPMAT is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. The exam was earlier conducted and accepted by only IIM Indore for admission to its give year intergrated programme in management. In 2022, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade started accepting IPMAT scores for admission to its integrated MBA programme. From the year 2023 onwards, many other institutes were added to the list which will also accept IPMAT scores conducted by IIM Indore.

Institutes such as the Indian Institute of Ranchi, Alliance University,  NICMAR University,  Department of Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law and Institute of Management, Nirma University will also accept IPMAT scores for admission to the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). The national level test, IPMAT, is a gateway for admission to the five-year Integrated Program in Management offered at IIM Indore. IPMAT 2026 form correction window will open after the registration process. It is expected to open in first week of April 2026 for a short period of time. Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is one of the most competitive entrance exams after Class 12. The difficulty level of the IPMAT exam is usually moderate. Quantitiative Aptitude Sectional Weightage

IPMAT has a total of 120 questions. The Quantitative Aptitude section (part 1 and 2) carry 100 marks each and the Verbal Ability section carries 200 marks. For each correct attempt, four marks are awarded and one mark is deducted for an incorrect attempt. There is no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Since IPMAT has negative marking scheme, candidates must choose the questions to solve very carefully and smartly. If they are not sure of the correct answer, they should leave the question instead of taking a chance.

The IPMAT exam is conducted for two hours or 120 minutes. The exam is conducted every year in the computer-based test mode. There are three sections in the IPMAT question paper, I. e. two sections on Quantitative Aptitude and one section on Verbal Ability. Each section is to be solved within 40 minutes. Since IPMAT is a centre-based online exam the test screen will move from first section to the next section automatically as soon as the time limit gets over. Every Indian Institute of Management (IIM) which accepts the IPMAT scores has its unique admission process:

IIM Indore conducts the IPMAT Indore exam for admission to the five-year integrated programme in management. Other IIMs such as IIM Sirmaur, IIM Amritsar, IIM Ranchi and IIM Shillong also accept the scores of IPMAT Indore for admission to their IPM programme. The scores are accepted by some other top management institutes as well. 

IIM Rohtak also conducts the IPMAT exam for admission to its 5-year IPM programme. The scores of IPMAT Rohtak are accepted only by IIM Rohtak. 

IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya also offers the IPM course but accepts JIPMAT for admissions. 

IPMAT is conducted by IIM Indore for admission to its IPM programme. The IPMAT Indore scores are also accepted by various other top Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). The colleges which accept IPMAT Indore scores include IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Amritsar, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Shillong, etc. Each college releases its own IPMAT cutoff for admissions. Hence, there is not common admission test for the IPMAT admissions. 

IIM Rohtak also conducts the IPMAT exam for admission to IIM Rohtak's IPM programme. 

Even if the candidate clears the sectional and overall cutoff in IPMAT exam but does not get shortlisted for the PI round, it means that the candidate is eligible but not among the top-ranked candidates based on the composite score. Such a candidate will not be considered for admission to the IPM programme.

Such candidates can opt for reappearing for the exam next year, as there is no provision of re-evaluation. Candidates can also consider applying to other institutes which accept IPMAT Indore scores, such as NIRMA University, TAPMI, etc. 

IPMAT 2026 admit card will likely be released in the third week of April 2026. IPMAT Indore 2026 will be conducted in the second week of May 2026, tentatively. The candidates who have successfully registered for the exam and paid the application fee will be able to download the IPMAT admit card. The candidates can use their login credentials to download the IPMAT hall ticket online.

No, candidates can only download the IPMAT admit card online from the website of IIM Indore. Once the candidates have successfully registered for the IPMAT exam, they will be allowwed to download the IPMAT admit card once released. To download the IPMAT hall ticket, candidates need to use their login credentails which were generated during the registration process. 

Candidatss will not be given a hard copy by post or otherwise of the IPMAT hall ticket.

IPMAT admit card will be released online and is a mandatory document to be carried to the IPMAT exam centre to gain entry in the exam hall. Candidates will not be permitted inside the IPMAT exam centre without the admit card. Candidates appearing for the IPMAT exam should check the details mentioned on the admit card. Yes, IIM Indore extends financial aid to the aspirants in need of financial assistance. The institute offers a Need Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) scholarship to ensure that no aspirant is deprived of education at the institute for financial reasons. All participants admitted to the Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), PGP HRM (PGPH) and Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) with annual family income below INR 9,00,000 are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The selection process thorough IPMAT is:

IPMAT entrance exam is the first phase of the IPM admission process. The exam is conducted in the computer-based test mode across various exam centres. The IPMAT question paper is based on topics such as Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Students who match the cutoff after the result announcement are called for the next phase of the IPM admissions. 

Personal Interview is the next round. Students are shortlisted based on their IPMAT scores. The PI assesses the candidate's written communication skills and ability to express thoughts. It evaluates the candidates' overall personality, confidence and programme suitability. 

IPMAT answer key is released online on the official website of IIM Indore. Candidates can raise objections against the IPMAT answer key after they are released the and objection filing window has opened. The eligibility criteria in terms of age for this entrance is that the candidate should be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, 2026, (for IPMAT Indore 2026) if you belong to the General, OBC or EWS category. Whereas there is 5-year relaxation for SC, ST and PWD candidates.

No, the IPMAT cutoffs are not the same for all categories. The cutoffs are different for different categories. The reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST, PwD) have lower cutoffs as compared to the General category.

The first IPMAT exam was conducted in the year 2011. IPMAT was initially accepted only for admission to the five year integrated management programme (IPM) offered by IIM Indore.  From 2022 onwards, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) also started to accept IPMAT scores for admission to its Integrated Programme in Management. 

Later, in 2023, IIM Indore announced that the IPMAT scores will be accepted by a few other institutes too for admission to their BBA programme. Institutes such as the Indian Institute of Ranchi,  Alliance University,  Indian7 University,  Department of Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law and Institute of Management, Nirma University will also accept IPMAT scores for admission to the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). 

So to answer your question, yes, IIM Ranchi will also accept the IPMAT scores which is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. 

IPMAT Indore scores are also accepted by IIM Shillong, IIM Amritsar, IIM Sirmaur, etc. 

Yes, students who have completely filled the IPMAT application form and paid the application fee before the due date can make corrections in the IPMAT application form. However, there is a limit to the number of corrections that can be made. Also, only a few fields are editable after the form submission. Given below are some of the IPMAT form correction instructions that the applicants must follow:

• Applicants who have completed the IPMAT application process can make changes in the application form (if any) within the stipulated time.
• To make corrections in the application form, aspirants need to login on to the official website using their login credentials, i.e. Username and Password.
• The application form correction window will be open for a day.
• Candidates can make corrections in only a few fields, such as Candidate’s Photo, Candidate’s Signature, Alternate Mobile Number, Alternate Email Address and Exam Centre City Preferences.
• Changes and edits can be made only once. Once the form is saved after being edited, the form will be uneditable. Hence, make the corrections carefully.

No, IPMAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by IIM Indore only once annually. IPMAT Rohtak is also conducted only once by IIM Rohtak. IPMAT is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. The exam was earlier conducted and accepted by only IIM Indore for admission to its give year intergrated programme in management. In the year 2022, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade started accepting IPMAT scores for admission to its integrated MBA programme. From the year 2023 onwards, many other institutes were added to the list which will also accept IPMAT scores conducted by IIM Indore. Institutes such as the Indian Institute of Ranchi, Alliance University,  NICMAR University,  Department of Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law, TA PAI Management Institute (TAPMI) and Institute of Management, Nirma University are also accepting the IPMAT scores for admission to the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). 

Candidates must report to the IPMAT exam centre at least an hour before the commencement of the exam. The IPMAT exam took place from 2 PM to 4 PM at various test centres, hence, candidates had to reach the exam centre the latest by 1 PM. Candidates were not allowed to leave the exam centre before 4 PM (afternoon session). Also, they can not re-enter the exam centre once they have submitted the exam.

Registered candidates will be able to know the details regarding their allotted IPMAT exam centre through the admit card. Important details such as the allotted exam centre name, address and more details will be made available through the IPMAT admit card. Therefore, the candidates will have to download the admit card and check the details carefully. In case of any discepancies, the candidates are advised to contact the authorities immediately.  

No the IPMAT cutoff for IIM INdore and IIM Rohtak are not the same. Both the IIMs conduct different IPMAT exams. IIM Indore conducts IPMAT Indore and the exam conducted by IIM Rohtak is called the IPMAT Rohtak exam. Thus, both the institues have different cutoff and selection processes. Various factors such as number of applicants, difficulty level, number of seats available for the programme and overall performance of the candidates affect different cutoffs. 

IPMAT is one of the most popular BBA entrance exams. An entrance exam like IPMAT may create anxiety among the aspirants. The first tip to ace the IPMAT exam is to stay calm. Here are a few last minute preparation tips for IPMAT exam:

• Confirm the exact location of the IPMAT test centre at least one day before the IPMAT exam day to ensure that transportation is available on time. If you are new to the city or the location of the centre, it is adivsable to visit the centre once.
• Arrive early to the exam centre. Applicants must ensure that they arrive at least an hour before the exam begins.
• Use the restroom before to the start of the test. Because you will not have time and may not be able to exit the exam hall throughout the examination period, use the restroom before entering the examination hall. 
• Do not bring cell phones or other electronic devices, such as Smartwatches, to the exam centre because the machines are not always available. Personal property will not be safeguarded outside of the exam centre, and IIM Indore or exam centre authorities will not be held liable for any loss of personal property. There are no stationary objects allowed, such as a pen, stylus, or paper. Rough pads and pens will be given to the applicants. Candidates should write their name and application number on their rough pads/sheets.
• Stay calm and have a healthy breakfast in the morning before the exam. 

Every candidate must carry a simple blue/black ball point pen and a two copies of their passport size photo to the IPMAT exam centre. They must not carry any stationary item other than the pen. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, IPMAT candidates are required to carry drinking water, hand sanitizer, face mask and gloves along with them. They have to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle. No other item will be allowed inside the exam venue. They also must not carry bags or valuables as there will be no arrangement for depositing while candidates appear for the exam. Candidates must also not carry notebooks or rough paper to the IPMAT exam centre. Any candidate found with an unauthorised item will be disqualified.
