NID DAT Mains Exams include NID Studio Test and Personal Interview. The NID DAT result 2026 for Studio Test and Personal Interview for B.Des programme was released as NID DAT Mains Exam or NID DAT Final Exam on May 26, 2026. The results for Studio Sensitivity Test and In-person Sensitivity Test were out. The result was released on NID website. Application ID and Date of Birth were required to download the result.
Earlier NID DAT Prelims exam marks were also considered in the making of the NID DAT Mains result. But this year, NID Prelims was only a shortlisting exam for the NID DAT Mains.

How to check the NID DAT Studio Test Result 2026?
The steps to check NID DAT 2026 Studio and Interview results are given below.
- Click on the result link
- In the log-in window that opens, enter the following details
- Email id
- Date of Birth
- On login, the DAT Mains results will be displayed on the screen.
- Download and take a printout of the result.
Commonly asked questions
The re-check window for the DAT Prelims was open soon after the results were out. The candidate has to apply for re-check online.
If, after the re-check, it is found that there are totalling errors or some answers have not been marked, the correction is made. In that case, the candidate was issued a new scorecard.
The candidate had to download the new scorecard online from the download portal.
The NID DAT 2026 results (Mains) for the B. Des program were announced on May 26, 2026. The final result is prepared by giving weightage DAT Mains.
National Institute of Design (NID) will release the NID DAT 2026 admission cut-off for the B.Des and M.Des programmes at the time of seat allotment, around May-June 2026. The cut-off will be released as the rank and score of the last candidate admitted to the M.Des program.

Cut-off for NID 2026 Entrance exam will be prepared based on factors like total number of applications, seat intake for the applied programme, category under which admission is sought, and merit rank of the applicant in NID DAT 2026. Each of these factors are variables. For example, number of applications may vary from one category to another. Cut-off would also vary. The cut-off represents the minimum marks a candidate needs to secure in his or her category to get admission to the B. Des or M.Des programme.
Admission to the B.Des and M.Des programs at the NIDs is conducted through the NID DAT entrance exam.
The exam has two sub-exams - The candidate 1st appears in DAT Prelims, and if shortlisted has to appear in DAT Mains.
The final merit list for NID DAT will be prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.
Also, if a candidate doen't appear in DAT Mains, he or she will not be considered for admission.
The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des programme will include a Studio Test. Meanwhile, the DAT Mains for the M.Des programme includes a Studio Test and Interview.
The final results of NID DAT 2026 will be prepared by considering the weighated score of the candidate in DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. Note that only such candidates who have qualified in DAT Prelims will be allowed to appear in DAT Mains. The National Institute of Design announces the weightage for the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.
As per the official notification, the DAT Prelims will carry 40% and DAT Mains will carr 60% weightage for the B. Des programme. In case of M.Des programme, DAT Prelims carries 30% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 70% weightage.

How will the tie be resolved in case of NID DAT 2026 Result (Mains)?
The following tie-break policy will be used to determine the merit ranks of candidates if they secure similar scores in DAT Mains.
Tie-break Policy for B.Des program
In case the total marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks in the final merit list:
- Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in TEST I: Studio Sensitivity
- If the tie still persists, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Studio Sensitivity Test Question 3
- If the tie continues, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Studio Sensitivity Test Question 1
- If the tie is still not resolved, the same rank will be allotted to candidates.

Both institutions offer the BDes course but with completely different admission processes. IIT Indore accepts admission based on the UCEED entrance exam, while BITS Pilani considers the NID Entrance exam/ BITSAT exam result.
