NIFT’s “Fashion Interiors” BDes program brings together interior design and textile sensibilities. This guide dives into eligibility, course structure, fees, exam pattern, and career opportunities to help you decide if this is the right design path.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has introduced a niche BDes in Fashion Interiors (also referred to as “interior designing” in some contexts), a unique cross-disciplinary course. Rather than a traditional architecture-style interior design degree, this program integrates the aesthetics of interiors with fashion, textiles, and lifestyle, offering a specialized but holistic education in spatial design.

NIFT Interior Designing Course: Placements
At NIFT, the students, based on their merits and performance, will be offered on-campus or online placement by the recruiting companies. After the training and internship period, the students might get job offers at some point in their studies. NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) operates a centralized placement process, allowing companies to recruit talent from any of its campuses and programs. The process consists of three phases:
Pre-Placement Offers (PPO): Companies can extend PPOs based on internships, training, or projects. Offers must meet NIFT's salary standards and be registered through the CMS. These offers may be made on the basis of internships/ training/ projects undertaken by the students in the said company. To provide a fair opportunity to all, companies may inform NIFT of such offers made
through the moderated Industry Mentor Feedback Form provided by the institute to ensure students offered PPO are not allowed to participate in further Placement process.
On-Campus Placement (Phase 1): Companies can register for on-campus placements, with a schedule provided. Companies are invited for campus placements. It is organised for all the eligible final year students of NIFT campuses. Upon being given a confirmed time and date, the companies participate in the campus placement procedure.
Off-Campus Placement (Phase 2): Following on-campus placements, NIFT facilitates online off-campus placements for registered companies. Upon completion of Campus Placements, the institute continues to facilitate job opportunities to its Graduates through off-campus drives, where companies that could not participate in campus placements raise requirements through the Industry & Alumni Affairs (I&AA) unit.
