NTA closed the application form for NIFT 2026. The application form was released online at the NTA admission portal exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. NIFT Registration is closed for all the UG and PG programmes like B.Des, B.F. Tech, M.Des, M.F Tech and MFM with late fees. NIFTEE Application with the late fees was open from January 17, 2026 to January 19, 2026. The late fee was INR 5000 with regular fee.
NIFT 2026 application form correction facility is closed. It was open from January 21, 2026 to January 22, 2026

While the NTA releases detailed guidelines for filling the form, mistakes can and do happen during registration. While some of the mistakes may be overlooked, for instance, if you select the wrong address, it may not cost you much, but if you choose the wrong category, for example, you might lose out on a probable seat! Again, entering the wrong academic credentials can also lead to the cancellation of applications.
If you are not aware, all the information furnished by you will be verified at the time of NIFT counseling and seat allotment. If any anomaly is found, you face the risk of disqualification. The NTA has released the admission schedule for the NIFT 2026 entrance exam, including the application dates. The last date to fill application will be in the first week of January 2026.
Candidates applying a late fee will have to pay an additional INR 5,000.
The application process for NIFT will be conducted online. After completing the application process, inclduing payment of fees, the candidate must download a printout of the application form.
In fact, the NIFT prospectus prescribes the candidate to “apply on time and keep a printout / photocopy of application form for further reference along with proof of payment.”

The candidate must also keep the following items handy before they start the application process.
- An active email ID
- Documents of the qualifying exams
- Matriculation documents
- Personal details, including address for communication, date of birth, category, etc.
- Disability Certificate (if applicable)
- Details of Credit/Debit card in case of making payment online

Upon log in, make the necessary change

The NIFT 2026 application fee is category-specific. The application fee for General/OBC (Non-Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category. Meanwhile, those belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD Category need to pay only INR 1,500. The application fee has to be paid online using net banking, credit, or debit cards. The application fee will have to be paid at the time of filling out the NIFT application form. Note that payment made using demand draft will not be accepted.
The NTA will not edit/ modify/ alter any information entered by the candidate under any circumstances. It will also not entertain requests for change in information. So, you must exercise utmost caution when filling up the form.
Request for corrections made by any candidates through Post/Fax/ WhatsApp/ Email/ by hand will not be entertained by NTA.

Will I be disqualified from NIFT Admission Process if I upload the wrong documents?
At the time of NIFT 2026 counseling, admission officials will conduct document verification.
During the verification process, if any counterfeit or false information is found, the candidate may be disqualified from the admission process.
For instance, if you upload the signature of someone else, you will be disqualified if caught. Further, in some cases, criminal proceedings may also be brought against the candidate. So, it is recommended that you upload correct and verifiable data when filling the form.

How to apply for NIFT 2026?
The NIFT 2026 application form will be hosted at the NTA NIFT admission portal. To fill out the form, follow these steps.
1. Use your Aadhaar Details to create a Login ID - Once you enter the correct Aadhaar details, you will get a verification code. Complete the verification process. Next, enter your email ID, mobile number, and parents’ names. Note that the mobile number and email ID shared by you for registration will be used by NTA for all future correspondence.
2. Fill in the application form - Log in to the registration portal and fill in the rest of the form, including academic qualification, correspondence address, and personal information. Also, select a NIFT 2026 test center from the drop down menu.
3. Upload documents - In this step, you will have to upload documents as per the given format and specification. The details can be found on the NIFT admission portal or you can check them in the table below.

4. Pay the application fee - This is the last step of the NIFT 2026 application process. The application fee of NIFT 2026 is category-specific. So, if you select the wrong category, the wrong fee will be displayed. Make sure that you select the right category. The application fee has to be paid online using payment options like UPI payment, credit card, debit card, net banking, etc.

NIFT 2026 Application Correction Window
The NTA will also provide a window for candidates to make corrections to the NIFT 2026 application form from January 21, 2026. Using the correction window, you can make corrections to some of the particulars. However, you are not allowed to change the test city. NIFT Correction window will close on January 22, 2026.

How to make corrections in NIFT 2026 Application form
To make corrections in the NIFT application form, follow these steps.
- Go to the NTA admission portal
- Click on the application correction tab
- You will be redirected to a log-in page; log in using your application number and date of birth
- Once you are logged in, you can access the application form.
- Click on the segment you want to edit and then make the changes
- Once you are done with the edit work, save and submit the page.
It is recommended that candidates apply for NIFT 2026 within the given deadline. Note that in the previous edition of the exam, the edit option was not available for some candidates who applied during the extended window.

NIFT 2026 Exam Date and Other Updates
The NTA will conduct the written exams for NIFT 2026 on February 08, 2026. The written exams will be administered in an offline-based mode in 60 cities across the country. The candidate can select their choice of exam city when filling the application form. The details of the NIFT 2026 exam center allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the NIFT 2026 admit card. The admit card, in addition, will also contain information like exam center reporting time, roll number, exam-day guidelines, and more.
The scores of the NIFT 2026 written exam will be used to shortlist candidates for a Situation Test/ Personal Interview. The FINAL results of NIFT 2026 will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exam and Situation Test/ PI.
