Joint Seat Allocation Authority has released the JoSAA 2023 eligibility criteria at the official website. Candidates are advised to go through the JoSAA eligibility criteria before completing the registration.The authorities has started the JoSAA 2023 registration on June 19. The last date to complete the JoSAA counselling registration 2023 is June 28.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2023: Joint Seat Allocation Authority has released the JoSAA 2023 eligibility criteria at the official website. Applicants appearing in the JoSAA counselling 2023 are advised to go through the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of JoSAA 2023 comprises qualifying exam marks and 12th marks. Candidates who failed to prove their JoSAA eligibility at the time of counselling will be disqualified at the time of admission. 

The admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs are done based on JEE Main 2023 score while admissions to IITs are done on the basis of JEE Advanced 2023 exam. The authorities started the JoSAA 2023 registration on June 19. Eligible students can complete the JoSAA registration at josaa.nic.in. The last date to complete the JoSAA registration 2023 is June 28. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will release the JoSAA 2023 round 1 seat allotment result on June 30 at the official website. JoSAA 2023 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates can get a seat in the highest possible choice of an academic program only if he/she is considered under the following factors: 

  •  The category (GEN, OBC-NCL, SC, etc.) of the candidate 
  • The position of the candidate in the rank list 
  • The order of preference of academic programs by the candidate 
  • The availability of seats in different seat categories/seat quotas for which the candidate is eligible.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Who Can Participate in Counselling? 

Every candidate who satisfies one or more of the following as mentioned below can participate in JOSAA counselling:

Eligibility Criteria 

Criterion I 

Qualified in JEE Advanced 2023 for academic programs [excluding the preparatory courses] at IITs and ISM. 

AND  

satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination” 

Criterion II 

Qualified in JEE Advanced 2023 for preparatory courses at IITs and ISM. 

AND 

satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination” 

Criterion III 

Secured a rank in JEE Main 2023 Paper-1 for BE/BTech Programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs. 

AND 

Must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) examination* with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects. Further, the candidates should have passed each of the subjects individually. 

Criterion IV 

Secured a rank in JEE Main 2023 Paper-2 for BArch/BPlanning programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs. 

AND 

has Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII (or equivalent) examination* AND 

should have passed each of the subjects individually. 

 JoSAA 2023 Eligibility Criteria - Class XII and Equivalent Examinations 

  1. The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities
  2. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
  3. Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy
  4. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
  5. Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or a foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the AIU.
  6. H.S.C. vocational examination.
  7. A Diploma recognized by the All-India Council for Technical Education or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration.
  8. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  9. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  10. Candidates who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the AIU to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII examination.

NOTE: In case the Class XII examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.

JoSAA 2023 Counselling Registration 

The first step to appearing for JOSAA counselling involves registration, wherein applicants need to give details such as gender, state code of eligibility, nationality, and contact details and pay seat acceptance fee. Once the registration is done, candidates have to report to their respective reporting centres for document verification. Online registrations and choice filling for JoSAA 2023 counselling has been started on June 19 for admissions to 23 IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), 31 NITs (National Institutes of Technology), 23 IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) and 23 Other-GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes). Applicants are advised to check the JoSAA  eligibility criteria before the completion of the registration process.

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission

The JEE Advanced JoSAA counselling dates will be made available on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.nic.in. Usually, the JoSAA counselling registration starts a day after the JEE Advanced result is anniunced. Complete schedule will be available on the official website.

With 3 Lacs CRL and 11k OBC-NCL rank, chances in JoSAA are low for top branches. But don't skip counseling. Try filling all NITs, IIITs, and even lower branches. Also check CSAB special rounds later. You might still get a seat if some colleges have vacant spots.
