Students’ Speak: Scored low in JEE Main? Here are your options to study engineering
By: Abdullah Salman
Life is much more than just cracking JEE exam. IIT is simply a route but if you browse there are equally good colleges expecting your score.
Like you, more than 10 lakh aspirants did not meet their desired rank for their dream college. So, it is just not you there are many. If you even fail for the first time it does not show that you can't become an engineer. There are many that can’t crack even after the second attempt and fritter three years’ time for this chance. Students generally lose confidence in themselves, but they have to simply accept that the JEE score isn't the turning point to make a decision for their intelligence.
Life is much more than just cracking JEE exam. IIT is simply a route but if you browse there are equally good colleges expecting your score. In case you've got the choice to require another attempt, go ahead. If not, then choose the subsequent best institute accepting JEE Main score or your state-level engineering colleges and take up an appropriate branch at the undergraduate stage. You may still attend the IITs after graduation through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for pursuing postgraduate studies within the IITs and IIScs.
Explore colleges based on JEE Advanced
Here are a few suggested solutions to bring you closer to your engineering dream:You could have as many as three JEE Main and two JEE Advance attempts. In case your attempts are exhausted, and it was your last attempt in JEE, you may consider the next level of colleges after IIT, i.e. NITs, IIITs, GFTIs. You may consider colleges under BITSAT and engineering colleges under your state-engineering exam (in case you have appeared).
Well, taking a drop isn't as easy because it seems to be. The need for extraordinary determination and skill to handle the pressure of last chance and therefore, the pressure of the arrogance that your parents showed in you're the pre-requisite but still, none of this will stop you if you're a person of character. Instead of giving yourself an attempt if you compromise and obtain into some private college instead it just adds nothing to your well-being.
So, get yourself ready and make a move and remember all of it's a mental game and to return victorious you've got to be mentally strong.
If you actually love IIT, then I like to recommend that you simply drop a year and prepare. If you're employed and have patience your rank will improve exponentially. Also try-scoring good in BITS. It is nearly as good as IITs are and it's a far better environment which may be a result of various factors, some being - no reservation, less academic pressure as compared to old IITs.
You can also opt for top petroleum industries, which are booming and take up top PSU and private sectors such as HPCL, IOCL, Reliance, etc.
