TNEA 2024 College List: Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is an online/centralized BTech admission process conducted in Tamil Nadu. All BTech aspirants in the state must participate in this process to be eligible for admission. The TNEA 2024 participating colleges in Tamil Nadu include Anna University and its constituent colleges, government colleges, and private colleges.
While 100% of seats in University Colleges and Government Engineering Colleges are filled through TNEA, private colleges reserve some seats under the management quota. The last date to register for TNEA counselling is June 2.
The TNEA 2026 dates will be announced in May 2026. Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu will release the application process for TNEA 2026.
Candidates can check the important TNEA 2026 dates like registration dates, random number release dates, Certificate verification dates, rank list release dates and counselling dates. The counselling rounds will include steps like Choice Filling, Allotment, Confirmation of Allotment, and Reporting to the College/TFC and payment of fees.
10+2 passed/appearing candidates can apply for TNEA counselling. Admission will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which will be reduced to 200 (Maths 100, Physics 50 and Chemistry 50).
The following candidates are considered as native of Tamil Nadu state:
- Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed their Class VIII to Class XII standard in Tamil Nadu.
- Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of TNEA application form submission.
- Sons/daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions who at the time of TNEA 2025 application form submission had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible to apply, irrespective of their domicile.
- Other state candidates who have studied from Class VIII to Class XII in Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA 2025.
- Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standards or their equivalent examinations from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA.
