TNEA Colleges for Cutoff Marks Between 160 to 200

TNEA Colleges for Cutoff Marks Between 160 to 200: Admission in Tamil Nadu UG engineering colleges is based on TNEA marks and ranks. TNEA marks are prepared based on the class 12 marks of the candidates who register for the TNEA counselling. The class 12 marks submitted by the candidates during TNEA registration are scaled down to 200 (Mathematics: 100, Physics: 50, Chemistry: 50) using the normalisation process. The marks obtained by students in the qualifying examination conducted by different Boards or authorities will be equated with the marks obtained by students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu using a normalisation method.

Q:   I have 75 % in CBSE class 12th and my cutoff is 136. Can I get B.Tech IT in TNEA colleges?
A:
The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA process is used to place candidates at various engineering colleges throughout the state of Tamil Nadu. TNEA rank lists are used to offer admissions to candidates in undergraduate programs like Bachelors of Engineering (BE) and Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) in colleges in Tamil Nadu. The TNEA written exam has been scrapped as the counselling is based on Class 12 marks, and therefore seats are allotted in the colleges through the TNEA rank list. You need to register on the official website, after which category-wise rank lists will be announced. You can get admission for B.Tech (IT) in TNEA if your aggregate score is decent enough (130 or more) and you make it to the rank list released by the Directorate of Technical Education.
Q:   I have 185 cutoff in TNEA. Can I get MIT Pune?
A:
MIT is always a dream college for many. But 181.5 cut off is quite difficult to get in. The cut off to get into MIT is always more than 185. So, there are many more good options available, one can try those too. One should also wait for the top cut off category. If one gets more than 195 cutoff score, they can definitely expect a seat in MIT. The admission process involves only the Tamil Nadu engineering counseling. MIT Chennai offers 36 specializations across six courses. They are B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Phil M.Sc. MS (Research) and Ph.D. For admission to B.Tech, a candidate has to pass 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. For selection, the candidate must go for TNEA counselling. For admission to M.Tech, a candidate has to have a B.Tech degree with 50% marks in the relevant subject. They must take either the TANCET or the GATE for selection purposes.

A:

However, according to a source, there are some engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu that accept TNEA cutoff below 130, such as University College of Engineering Villupuram, Kakuppam, Villupuram, and others. Similarly, another source provides a list of the best mechanical engineering colleges for BC group with a cutoff of 130 in TNEA , including the college name, code, district, and type. It is important to note that the cutoff information may vary depending on the specific guidelines of the conducting authority and the admission process. TNEA 2025 Counselling Process

The TNEA admission process includes the following steps:

  1. Registration on the Official Website: To take part in the TNEA 2025 counselling and seat selection process, candidates must register on the official website, tneaonline.org. During registration, it's important to provide all required information and pay the application fee.
  2. Filling Out the Application and Uploading Certificates: After registering, candidates need to complete an online application form. This form requires personal information, details about any reservations or scholarships, the school they've studied at, and their academic record. Candidates must also upload scanned copies of important documents, which will be checked at designated centres. They can choose where they want their documents to be verified. Detailed instructions on how to upload these documents will be provided after registration.
  3. Assigning Random Numbers: Each applicant will be given a unique TNEA random number to help resolve any possible ties in the ranking process. If two candidates have the same score, the one with the higher random number will be ranked higher.
  4. Online Document Verification: All uploaded documents will be verified online at designated centres, although sportspersons will need to verify their documents in person in Chennai. Once the verification is complete, the TNEA 2025 rank list will be published, listing only those candidates whose documents have been successfully verified.
  5. Publication of Rank List and Addressing Concerns: After the merit list is released, there will be a week for candidates to address any issues or concerns regarding their rankings. This can be done in person at the TNEA office or at nearby verification centres.
  6. Online Counselling Process: After document verification, candidates can participate in the counselling process, which will take place online in several rounds according to a specific schedule. This includes filling out preferences, selecting seats, confirming their choices, and reporting to the allocated college.

With a 5,667 community rank, your best bet at TCE is branches like Electrical & Electronics, Information Technology, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. CSE and ECE are out of reach, but these other options fit your rank well.
