
GATE 2026 Exam Centre: The Indian Institite of Technology, Guwahati, has released the list of GATE 2026 exam centres on website. Candidates must know that centres are available for eight zones. Candidates had to submit their centre choices at the time of filling GATE application form 2026. Candidates who want to change their exam centre can do it during the correction facility, which has been activated. The last date to submit changes is November 3, 2025.
It has to be noted that, there are no international test centres for foreign nationals. Applicants have to travel to India to appear for exam. While filling the registration form, candidates had to select upto three GATE exam cities from the same zone. As per the guidelines, the ideal time to reach the centre is 90 minutes before the commencement of GATE 2026 exam. Read below to know more.

IIT Guwahati has released the updated GATE exam centres 2026 along with the information brochure. The GATE 2026 exam centres have eight zonal centres - IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee. Candidates can choose at least three exam centres while filling their GATE 2026 application form. The list of GATE exam cities (zone-wise) is available on the website. GATE 2026 Exam Centres for Foreign Nationals
As per the GATE 2026 official notification, "There are no international centres for the GATE examination. Interested foreign or Indian nationals interested in appearing for the GATE examination will have to travel to India to appear for the test."
Steps to add GATE test centres in application form correction
Candidates can select their exam centres at the time of filling application form. Here's how you can do it -
- Visit GATE's official website
- Click on the account and click on exam city option
- Add or change within the zone list
- Make the payment and submit
Choice of examination city: The candidate can choose three cities from the list of examination cities in the above table. All three exam city choices must be from the same GATE 2026 zone. In addition, the authorities have the right to add a new city or remove or allot any city from the choices submitted by the aspirant.

The GATE 2026 exam will be conducted in more than 200 cities across eight zones in India. There are no international centres. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must travel to India. The details regarding the test city and address will be mentioned in the GATE admit card.
No, candidates cannot change the GATE exam centre after the release of the admit card. Therefore, it is advisable to carefully opt for the exam cities as per their preference. The GATE admit card mentions complete address of the candidate's test centre.
