IOCL Recruitment Through GATE 2025: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) will release the notification for recruitment through GATE 2025 on its official website: www.iocl.com. The notification is expected to be released in the first week of June 2025, soon after the declaration of GATE 2025 results (March 19, 2025). IIT Roorkee conducted the GATE 2025 exams on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
The IOCL Recruitment through GATE 2025 will be conducted for engineering graduates of Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mechanical streams. Candidates of other than these disciplines are not eligible to apply for vacancies in the organisation.

IOCL Selection Process
The selection procedure for Officers/Engineers/GAEs/Research Officers in IOCL will comprise of the following steps:
Valid GATE Score: Candidates must have appeared and qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineers (GATE) 2025 with good scores in concerned disciplines. Candidates must keep in mind that though the GATE score is valid for three years but PSUs only consider the score of the current year. It means that for getting recruited in 2025, students must have a valid GATE 2025 score.
After qualifying the GATE, candidates will be shortlisted based on their scores for rounds ahead:
- Group Discussion (GD)/Group Task (GT)
- Personal Interview (PI) for assessment of different facets of knowledge, skills, etc.
Other than qualifying GATE, Candidates have to qualify separately in Group Discussion (GD)/Group Task (GT) and Personal Interview (PI) successfully. Candidates’ scores in the GATE, GD/GT, and PI will be the basis of preparing a discipline- wise merit list.

The cutoff score in GATE is the minimum mark required to qualify for the exam. The conducting body releases the qualifying cutoff along with result. It determines, whether a candidate is eligible to participate in the counselling round or not.
The cutoff score in GATE varies every year (category-wise), depending on the number of students registered, difficulty level of the question paper, and previous year's trends. The GATE cutoff score are mainly of two types - admission and qualifying cutoff.

Candidates applying to a MSc course in IIT Delhi must fulfil the required eligibility criteria. Thus, aspirant must hold a valid bachelor's degree in a relevant stream for at least two years (four semesters) and a minimum aggregate between 55% and 80% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10.
For MSc cognitive science/economic courses, the accepted degrees are BA/BSc/BCom/BTech/BE/BStat/BMath or equivalent. The total course fee for MSc course is ranges between INR 30K and INR 3 lakh.
Students seeking admission to BDes course (Bachelor of Design) at IIT Delhi are required to sit for UCEED exam 2023. UCEED releases qualifying cutoff in the form of mean deviation and standard deviation. Appearing in UCEED 2023 or being on the admission rank list does not guarantee admission to IIT Delhi BDes courses.
Candidates who have passed UCEED 2023 must apply separately to the UCEED participating institute for BDes admission. Apart from passing the UCEED exam, the candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria, category certificates and other documents, as well as the UCEED score, to be verified by IIT Delhi.

Conditions before getting recruited for IOCL. The eligibility conditions have been explained below:
Qualifying Examination
Aspirants must have passed qualifying degree examinations and awarded bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology (full-time regular courses only)
For MTech candidates: Students pursuing or have completed MTech are also eligible to apply for IOCL Recruitment through GATE subject to their graduation pursued in the specified disciplines only. They will also be required to qualify the GATE in the specified subject of the respective discipline.
For Integrated ME/MTech candidates: They are also eligible to apply, provided they have completed or are completing the course requirement for BE/BTech in one of the core disciplines advertised and have completed ME/MTech. During the selection and interview, the candidates must possess and produce both BE/BTech and ME/MTech degrees.
Who’s not eligible? Candidates having completed or who are pursuing their graduation in combined/integrated disciplines/inter-disciplinary subjects like Mechatronics/Robotics etc will not be considered eligible.
Pass Percentage
General and OBC (NCL) category candidates must have secured at least 65% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination, whereas for SC/ST and PwD candidates the eligibility is minimum 55% aggregate marks.
Final year students
At the time of applying, candidates belonging to General & OBC-NCL categories must have secured a minimum of 65% aggregate marks Candidates of SC/ST/PWD categories are required to have obtained at least 55% aggregate marks. This is up to the last semester/year examination at the time of applying For Selection. Such candidates have to submit their final mark sheet by August 31, 2024.
Age Limit
Candidates belonging to General Category should not be more than 28 years of age. Relaxation for reserved category candidates will be as per the Government regulations. For Assistant Officers in Quality Control, the age limit is 30 years.

You can apply for two GATE papers (maximum). While filling out the GATE application form, you need to select the primary and secondary paper. GATE is one of the entrance exams for PhD admission. However, aspirants can also get admission in PhD based on CSIR NET/ CEED/ UGC NET or written test conducted by the institute. IOCL Salary Band
- Candidates selected as Engineers/Officers will be receiving a monthly remuneration of INR 60,000. Also, the recruited candidates will get different allowances as per the rules of the Corporation.
- Other Allowances or Benefits will include DA, HRA/Subsidised Housing Accommodation (depending upon the place of posting), medical facilities, performance-related pay, gratuity, contributory provident fund, employees’ pension scheme, group personal accident insurance scheme, leave encashment, LTC, contributory superannuation benefit fund scheme, conveyance advance, performance-related incentives, etc.
- The Cost to Company (CTC) will be around INR 17.00 lakhs per annum inclusive of Performance Related Pay. The Actual CTC may vary, depending on the place of posting, and other factors.
