SSC GD Vacancy 2026: The Staff Selection Commission released the number of tentative vacancies in the official notification. The service and state-wise vacancies were released separately on ssc.gov.in. The Commission mention the state-wise, force-wise and category-wise vacancies for the candidates. The Commission can change the number of vacancies anytime before the declaration of final result based on the requisitions received from various departments. The Commission always release a good number of vacancies in the notification which make it the most awaited exam among the candidates.
The number of vacancies impact the SSC GD cutoff at each stage of selection process. The Commission notified a total of 25487 vacancies for the exam. The highest number of vacancies were announced for CISF. Total 14595 vacancies were announced for this post.

SSC GD recruitment is done in total eight forces. For the post of Constable (GD), the recruitment is done in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles (AR), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF). Yes, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the state-wise SSC GD Constable vacancies during the examination process. The final SSC GD vacancy list is released state-wise, category-wise, post-wise and gender-wise. The SSC GD Constable vacancy is released in two parts-Part I and Part II. - The number of GD vacancies is intimated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to the SSC
- Constable (GD) vacancies in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) are filled on an all-India basis. However, vacancies in all other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are filled as per vacancies available in various states/Union Territories (UTs).
- For the Border Guarding Districts and Militancy/Naxal-affected districts, vacancies are reserved for the candidates of these districts only

No, the number of SSC GD vacancies are not the same for all the categories. The SSC GD vacancy 2024 vary for reserved and unresered categories. The Commission fixes the number of SSC GD Constable vacancies for Reserved category candidates including SC/ ST/ OBC/ ExS/ others as per the reservation norms. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) announced a total of 50187 vacancies under the SSC GD 2022-2023 recruitment drive. Out of the total SSC GD vacancies, 44439 were for male candidates and 5573 were for female candidates.
