NIMCET Application Form 2026: The exam body released the NIMCET 2026 application form on March 3, 2026. The registration dates for the NIMCET exam 2026 is announced on its official website nimcet.admissions.nic.in. Candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria can fill the application form of NIMCET 2026 till May 1, 2026. While filling the application form, students will have to enter their details, uploading scanned documents, and paying application fees. The NIMCET fee payment can be done online through net banking, credit card, or debit card.

How to Apply for NIMCET 2026?

Follow the steps below to fill the NIMCET application form: 

  • Open the official website nimcet.admissions.nic.in
  • Click the NIMCET exam registration link. A new page will open.
  • Download the application form.
  • Fill in your details, Name, Gender, Date of birth, Email ID, and your contact details to register. The details mentioned on the registration form must match the information on your official documents.
  • Your application number will be generated. You will be prompted to create a secure password.
  • Please fill in your personal and academic details, as well as your contact information. 
  • Select your preferred exam centre.
  • Upload your scanned photograph and signature.

NIMCET Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

  • Any UG program of a minimum 3 years with Mathematics/Statistics
    OR
  • B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognised University/Institute

Minimum Marks

  • General category: At least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale
  • SC/ST/PwD: 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale

Mandatory Subject: Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects.
Nationality: Must be an Indian national.
Students from open universities with a minimum three-year Bachelor's degree with Mathematics/Statistics (B.Sc. Statistics) as a subject, approved by UGC/AICTE and DEC, are also eligible to apply.

  • Valid email ID and a valid mobile phone number for verification purposes. This will also be required to retrieve the forgotten login credentials, hence it is mandatory.

Q:   If I do not pay the application fee but complete the rest of the NIMCET application process, am I still eligible for the exam?
A: 

No. Since you couldn't complete the process, your application will not be accepted. The NIMCET application process will only complete after you have paid the application fee. Make sure that you do not miss any of the required steps of the application process, be it payment of fee or uploading of documents.

Q:   Which details have to be mentioned in the NIMCET application form?

Important Points To Remember While Filling KCET Form 2026

The process of NIMCET registration is completely online. Candidates filling the NIMCET registration form must adhere to the points mentioned here while applying for the exam.

  • Candidates must be careful with the details they fill in the application form, as incorrect details can lead to cancellation of their candidature.
  • Dimension and size of scanned images of photo and signature must be within specifications mentioned in the information brochure.
  • Size and fomat of scanned document like SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS, PwD/PwBD certificate certificate or UDID card must be as per the specification.
  • Candidates must make sure that their photo in Aadhaar matches with their current appearance/look. In case of mismatch, candidates will not be able to complete the NIMCET Registration 2026.

Filling Wrong Details: Candidates must be very careful with the spellings when filling personal details like name, parents name and their email ID. These could lead to cancellation of application form. Also, details related to educational qualification, present/permanent address must be filled correctly.

Providing Incorrect/Inactive Mobile Number: Is is very important that candidates provide the mobile number that they are using currently. If candidates don't have mobile, they must provide their parents mobile number in registration. 

Uploading Blurry Images: Candidates must use the recent photo with clear white background in registration. The face should appear clear in the photo and it must be within the permissible size, format and dimension.

Selection of Distant Exam City: Candidates must choose the city wisely to avoid long distance travel for appearing in the exam.

Q:   How many months are required to prepare for NIMCET exam?
A: 

The time-period required to complete the NIMCET preparation depends on students. Every student has their own pace of study. Ideally, 3-4 month is good enough for completing the NIMCET preparation. Students who have started preparing during their BCA can easily prepare for NIMCET in 4 months considering the topics of exam syllabus have already been studied in BCA.

NIMCET preparation is most effective with BCA as almost 90-95 percent topics are similar in both exams. This way students can easily complete the entire NIMCET syllabus as well as syllabus of BCA. After the graduation exams, students get 2-3 month where they can focus entirely on NIMCET.

Students who have started late for the NIMCET exam can make a 6-month plan where in the first three months they have to focus on revising the syllabus studied in BCA. In the next two months’ focus on solving questions of NIMCET and analyzing the mistakes being made, if any. The last one month should be focused on solving mock tests and NIMCET previous year question papers.

NIMCET 2026 Application Correction

The NIMCET application form edit window will be available at nimcet.admissions.nic.in. The edit window usually opens 2-3 days after the last day to fill the application form. Registered candidates who want to make changes in their application form can log in using their credentials and make the required corrections. Please note that candidates can make the changes in the form only in the given edit window for NIMCET 2026 and after that no requests will be entertained to make corrections.

Candidates admission into NIT is based on depending on your All India Rank (AIR); top ranks (under 100) usually NIT Trichy or Warangal which are top NITs. Mid-range ranks (500–1500) get placements in mid-tier NITs like Raipur, Agartala, or Jamshedpur.

Yes. The cutoff (opening and closing ranks) is released after each round of centralised counselling. Typically, there are three primary rounds followed by a special/spot round if seats remain vacant at participating NITs.
