AILET Exam 2026 - Highlights

The question paper of AILET 2026 will contain 150 objective-type questions of one mark each. The exam will be of two hours’ duration and held in a Computer-based-test mode.

Q:   Which subject has the maximum weightage in the AILET 2026 exam?
A:

The Logical reasoning section carries the maximum weightage; i.e. 50 per cent in the AILET 2025 Exam. Reasoning is actually a combination of both verbal logic, as well as analytical reasoning. So, one part is full of numbers and data, while the other is made of words and puzzles. Reasoning needs ample practice. Books by MK Pandey and RS Aggarwal will suffice. For Data Interpretation (DI) questions, the trick lies in forming the table. Once this is done, the rest of the questions flow automatically. Hence, the students are advised to prepare this subject carefully and give special attention. 

Q:   How should one prepare for AILET Exam?
A:

You should take regular mock tests and soleve previous years question papers. One mock test each day will help you in revising your concepts apart from building your confidence.

Q:   Is 75 a good score in AILET?
A:

To crack the AILET exam, candidates must target to achieve rank between 50-60, which means score above 75 will help you land at the NLU Delhi. Candidates must go through the AILET exam pattern, syllabus, and previous year questions to prepare for the exam effectively. The previous year questions will help candidates to get an idea about the kind of questions asked in the exam.

AILET Weekly Preparation Plan

To ace the AILET exam, candidates should create a well strategised plan considering the days left for exam, weightage of marks, and exam pattern. Along with studying the best AILET books, there should be an appropriate strategy to walk through the exam.

Week 1 & 2 – English

Candidate should divide the AILET syllabus equally and smart division of time should be done for each subject. Based on the marking scheme for each AILET section, candidates are advised to devote time to subjects wisely.

In the first two weeks, pick English as it hold 50 marks in the entire AILET entrance exam:

First 2 Days (Making a Plan and Equal Division of Time to Each Topic)

  • Go through the topics such as Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Inference-based questions, Synonyms, Antonyms, Word Usage, Foreign Words/Phrase, Para Jumble
  • Collect the books and online study material
  • By the end of each day, solve previous years questions for an idea about kind of questions asked

Next 4 Days (Thorough Study)

  • Read thoroughly about the topics, understand the concept and solve previous years questions
  • On the last day of the week, revise each section and focus on solving questions from previous years’ papers.

Week 3 & 4 - Logical Reasoning

  • Get an overview about the topics such as  Series, Blood Relations, Directions, Critical Reasoning, Syllogism
  • By the end of each day, solve previous years’ questions related to logical reasoning

Next 4 Days (Thorough Study)

  • Read thoroughly about the topics, understand the concept and solve previous years questions
  • On the last day of the week, revise each section

Week 5 & 6 – Current Affairs and General Knowledge

Yes, Candidates can prepare for AILET 2026 entrance exam in one month by giving more time to study the important topics and practice the questions asked in previous year papers. Each section must be given equal preference. Revise the topics already studied regularly. 

Q:   What is the highest score in AILET?
A:
A good score for AILET as per last year's cut off marks for each category are as under:
General - 93.25 marks
SC/ST - 59.75/58.5 marks
PwD - 64 marks
Kashmir Migrant - 35.25 marks
Residents of J&K- 54.25 marks.
 
Q:   How to crack AILET 2026 in first attempt?
A:

To crack AILET exam in your first attempt-

  • Create a plan
  • Collect the books along with the previous year question papers

Week 7 & 8 - Revise and Practice AILET Mock Test Papers

The last weeks should be entirely dedicated to solving question papers and getting real time idea about the difficulty level of exam and preparing the mind for the AILET 2026 exam day.

Getting 79 in AILET is kind of a fair score, but it depends on how hard the exam was that year. Sometimes the cutoff goes high, sometimes low. For general category, top ranks usually need around 85 or more. Still, your AILET 2026 score of 79 might stand close if the paper was tough overall.

AILET or All India Law Entrance Test is an entrance exam conducted at the national level. The conducting body is NLU Delhi. Students aim for this course for getting admissions to LLM courses in NLU Delhi. This exam is seperate than CLAT.

NLU Delhi BA LLB (Hons) cutoff 2026 is out for round 1 across different categories. For the students belongong to the General AI quota, the AILET cutoff score is 60. For the OBC category, the cutoff score is 330. Candidates can refer to the table below to view the category-wise cutoff details:

No, the presidency university do not accept AILET Score. Candidates have to appear either for PULAT or CLAT to get admission in the law courses offered by the varsity. Without it you can not get admission.
