The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the important exam day guidelines for the All India Bar Examination XXI (AIBE 21). Candidates must adhere to the checklist shared by the BCI on the exam day to avoid any trouble. Only aspirants with their AIBE 21 Admit Card 2026 and a valid photo ID will be allowed inside the examination centre.

It must be noted that the AIBE Exam is no more conducted in an open-book format. However, as per the AIBE Exam Day Guidelines 2026, candidates will be allowed to carry the Bare Acts without notes to the exam hall. The AIBE 21 Examination 2026 will be held on June 7, 2026, in offline mode. AIBE 2026 can be attempted by the law graduates who have completed either a 3-year LLB or a 5-year LLB along with final year law students. AIBE 21 Exam (XXI) Reporting Time

The BCI will conduct the AIBE 21 (XXI) in a single shift from 1 pm to 4 pm. Candidates must report to the AIBE 21 Exam Centre 2026 by 11.30 am. Candidates must check the centre name in the AIBE XXI (21) 2026 Hall Ticket. No candidate will be allowed entry after 1.15 pm.

Q:   What is AIBE Exam Pattern?

The AIBE 2026 will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode. The exam will be held for three hours thirty minutes. There will be 100 MCQs. Candidates must note that the question paper will be from 19 subjects and there is no negative marking. Candidates will be allowed to carry bare acts without notes.

AIBE Exam difficulty level is generally moderate. However, it totally depends on the individual's preparation. Candidates must prepare well for the exam to clear it in first go. Candidates must check the pattern before starting preparation for AIBE Exam.

AIBE Exam is tough to crack as its the certification exam. Candidates who will clear the exam will be issued CoP. Candidates must prepare for the exam pretty well to clear in first attempt.

Q:   Can I practice in court without clearing AIBE Exam?
A: 

No. As per the BCI rules, candidates can not practice in the court of law until they have a certificate of practice. The CoP will be issued only to those who clear the AIBE Exam.

How to download AIBE Admit Card 2026?

Candidates can follow the method given below to download the AIBE 2026 Admit Card-

  • Go to the official website; i.e. allindiabarexamination.com. 
  • Click on the link that says "AIBE XXI Admit Card"
  • Click on the link and enter your registered login ID and password
  • Download the admit card, save and print.

AIBE 21 Dress Code 2026 for Male and Female

For male candidates, the guidelines regarding dress code are

  • Simple shirt or tshirts are allowed 
  • Should not have any zips, pockets, huge buttons, etc.
  • Simple pants without pockets.
  • Open footwear like slippers and sandals is allowed.
  • Do not wear any covered footwear like shoes and boots.

AIBE Dress Code for Female 2026

For females, the dress code on the exam day is

  • Simple dress that is comfortable to sit for long hours. 

  • Do not wear any electronic devices
  • Choose only comfortable footwear
  • If you wear religious attire (like a headscarf, turban, or specific cultural clothing), make sure it is permissible as long as it does not obstruct the exam process.

Carry a Blue/Black Ball Point Pen to fill the OMR answer sheet for AIBE 2026

Don’t carry any stationary item other than a pen. Don’t carry electronic items including mobile phones, pager, watch, ipad and calculator.

Two copies of AIBE 21 admit card

Don’t carry eatables inside the exam venue.

Photo ID and a passport size photo

Don’t reach late. Gates will be closed at 9:50 AM.

Self-attest self-delaration form before reaching the test centre.

Don’t carry anything with yourself while coming out of the test room.

Reach the AIBE exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.

Don’t resist frisking or identification procedures at the exam centre.

Wear simple outfits with plain cardigans and sweaters.

 

Don’t wear jewellery and jacket on the exam day.

Submit a copy of admit card and rough sheets to the invigilator.

Yes, candidates can raise objection on AIBE Answer Key. Based on the objections received, the AIBE Final Answer Key will be released. The AIBE Result is declared based on the final answer key.

The AIBE provisional answer key will be released soon after the exam. It will be published on allindiabarexamination.com. The objection window will open thereafter for candidates to challenge discrepancies.

Candidates who will successfully pass the AIBE exam will be issued the CoP by BCI. The qualified candidates will have to collect their Certificate of Practice from their respective State Bar Councils. It is a mandatory document to practice Law in India.
