A Certificate of Practice is issued by the Bar Council of India under Section 24(1)(b) of the Advocates Act, 1961. It confirms that an individual is qualified and can practice law in any Indian Court. It is issued to those who successfully clear the AIBE exam. The BCI has made it mandatory that all advocates obtain a CoP within three years of their provisional enrollment with a State Bar Council.
