Planning to appear for ULSAT 2020? Here are the section-wise preparation tips for ULSAT exam mentioned syllabus to be covered, books and tips to score well in each section. 

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) will conduct the entrance exam for undergraduate law admissions in an Internet-Based Test mode. The exam will be conducted in several days from June 27-29, 2020 in a home-based online mode. This means candidates need not appear for the examination at the exam centres rather they can take the exam from the comfort of their homes. Candidates should note that there is no change in the exam pattern for ULSAT 2020 and, the questions will be based on Language Comprehension, Quantitative & Numerical Ability, Logical Reasoning, Legal General Knowledge and, Legal Aptitude. Therefore, here are some section-wise preparation tips for ULSAT 2020 covering all the important aspects of the examination.

Preparation Tips for ULSAT 2020 Language Comprehension

Candidates would be attempting questions based on comprehension passages, grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, phrases, idioms etc. They can prepare the subject with the help of books like Objective General English by RS Aggarwal, Grammar and Composition Wren & Martin, Word Power Made Easy and 30 days to a Faster Vocabulary by Norman Lewis to cover the entire syllabus of English section. Preparation Tips for ULSAT 2020 Quantitative & Numerical Ability

The quantitative and numerical ability section will be based on elementary mathematics including, algebra, probability, percentage, arithmetic, AP/GP. quadratic equations, statistics etc. Candidates can prepare the subject with the help of the following books: 

  • Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Exams by RS Aggarwal
  • Class 10 Mathematics IQ Challenge by Anil Ahlawat 
  • Fast Track Objective Arithmetic by Arihant 

The best strategy for the preparation of this section would be: 

  • Clarify each concept one by one and practice question thereafter 
  • Target at least two topics a day and 5-10 questions for each topic
  • Take online mock tests as this section needs speed, accuracy as well as, time-management 

Preparation Tips for ULSAT 2020 Logical Reasoning

The section will be carrying questions based on analogies, series, relationships, deductive/inductive reasoning, odd-even, figures and patterns. Candidates can prepare for this section as under:

Preparation Tips for ULSAT 2020 Legal General Knowledge and Aptitude

The most common section in all the law entrance exams but no exact syllabus is Legal GK and Aptitude. The section is commonly based on law of torts, liability, criminal law, family law, contractual law, constitutional law, international law, IPR, contemporary topics and legal awareness around the facts and personalities of Indian Legal System. Candidates can prepare for this section as under: 

  • Learn Legal English and Terms on a daily basis 
  • Make notes on the Judiciary, Indian Constitution and GK of Legal domain to learn better
  • Improve vocabulary and word meaning for better comprehension of the questions 
  • Practice passage-based questions around Legal topics

No, you cannot get into a National Law University (NLU) with a ULSAT score. NLU admissions for the 25 participating NLUs is done through the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test). For NLU Delhi the AILET is conducted. ULSAT is for UPES, not NLUs, so you need CLAT or AILET scores.

Yes, you can get admission based on CLAT Score. Apart from that you can also appear for ULSAT Exam conducted by the university.

ULSAT Exam Result will be published online. Since the whole admission process is completely online nothing will be published offline. Candidates must not trust anything published offline.

ULSAT Exam is held in online mode. To appear in the exam you have to book a slot. In case you are applying for admission through CLAT Score then you don't need to attempt the exam.

No, you can not appear for the ULSAT Exam without booking a slot. It must be noted that it is a important step for those appearing in the exam. If you are applying through CLAT scores, you can skip.

ULSAT slot booking is mandatory. Since its first come first served process it is important that you do it as early as possible to get your preferred exam date, time, and test center.

The ULSATisn't considered extremely tough, especially if you're preparing for exams like CLAT. It is a moderate-difficult exam conducted in online mode with no negative marking. As the pattern is similar to other law entrance exam it is easy to clear.
